Yeah, I'll be a man about it, it was my fault, but the tow truck driver was going about as fast as I was and didnt stop either. We were both being douchebags so we came up with an elaborate lie to tell the cops so neither one of us got the ticket for "Driving too fast under poor weather conditions" or somethin like that.

The worst part about it is though is that I had to give my peeps $500 for the car, and now the insurance deductible is $500, and thats all I've made during my whole time working, so I'm going to be assed out.

Ok, so Thursday Night, I got off work at 10:30pm. My ghetto ass assistant manager named "Lakisha" (no joke) needed a ride home. She lives in the real friggin hood, so it was about a 10 minute drive there (I live in the hood, but people get beat up where I live. People get shot everyday where this friggin chick lives). So I drive her home or whatever, and we get there about 11 (because we chilled a little after we closed down the shop to eat or whatever). So she gives me 10 dollars for the ride and shit, so I'm like cool. Well I just got my paycheck that night, so I didnt really feel like going home. So I sat outside her house and was calling up some girls. One girl wanted me to pick her up and take her to the show. So I was like cool. Now keep in mind this was Thursday night, so in Chicago it was not only cold as fak, we also had a terrible snow storm. Well I'm confident in my driving skills, so I paid no attention to the black ice and snow on the ground, I was driving as I usually do (35 mph on side streets). Ok well about 8 blocks down from where I dropped Kisha off, theres this intersection with a 4way stop sign. Now I drive like a douche so my mind reads "Slow", not "Stop". Ok so I slowed to about 20mph, and then hit the gas again. As Im hitting the gas, this sonovabitch tow truck comes out of nowhere, and this asshat didnt even fucking stop either. So I quickly switched my foot from gas to brake, but I started sliding so I put that bitch in Neutral and eased on the brake. Well I could tell that I was still gonna collide with this motherfucker hard so I swerved to the left and I almost made it out of the accident but the dude snagged my bumper and it flew off (I still dont know how my bumper flew to the sidewalk, but it did somehow). So yea.

This was one of those big huge ass durable tow trucks too, so yea, instead of having to replace one of my fenders and my bumpers, I would've had to been buried because If I didn't get smashed in that bitch the gas tank would have caught on fire and I would've got fucked for real.

It was a decent move putting it in neutral and easing on the brake.

It was absolutely idiotic to drive in this kind of weather unnecessarily. You honestly are in no shape ready for the road if you cant even blame it on the ice. You ran the stop sign! It's easy to slide no matter how slow you're going, and black ice is always waiting in the wings...

Hell, I had an Uncle who died before I was even born because he was hit by some idiots trying to see how fast their car could go. I already mentioned 3 H.S. seniors died in my town last year, one of whom I know for sure was racing. Of my High School graduating class in '04 we've had two deaths both due making terrible decisions in a car. I'm sure many people have similiar stories.

Bottem line is this kid shouldn't be traveling a mile more than the speed limit for the next ten years. Although I won't wish his death, I hope a fairly nonserious accident like this will knock some sense into him.

To be honest I think I just got overwhelmed by the thought of having my own car. MY own shit. Wednesday I had picked up friends and we were hanging so I didn't have it to myself. But then after I dropped Kisha off the next day it was my first time by myself with it. My own car...So idk I think I just got overjoyed now that I think about it. The moral of the story. Shit Happens. We've all been in a situation where we've rolled through a stop sign or done something else illegal. I've been to the point where I've kept rolling just so i wouldn't get stuck in snow. You just got extremely unlucky with the snow plow. Granted, you SHOULDN'T have rolled the stop sign, but there was a reason for it that didn't involve you wanting excessive speed. Why does everyone keep linking this crash with his need for going too fast? No relation. The speed thing could have caused an accident down the road, but it didn't affect this one.

With whatever your next car is, try to keep the speed thing under control. There's a time and place for it. Hell, move to Europe, I've topped out every car I've driven here because of the long straight roads, and the very flexible/nonexistant traffic laws.

Side note: Wouldn't it have been easier to slow down to a stop had you put the car in 1st rather than neutral? 1st gear and lite braking seems to me like it would be better than neutral and sliding.. Just my .02

And what will he accomplish by doing that? It's a 4 banger with like 120-30 hp stock. The cam and headers will give him a slight boost in hp, the ram air kit will too but then he will have to put on a ram air hood to help the airflow and then he will look like a major tool (ram air hood on a saturn? lmfaoooo), and all changing the gears will do is help acceleration. So good job man, you basically told him how to spend a lot of money for about 30-40 more hp and look like a major tool while doing it.

Sure, you could do that, but your stockholders would rebel against you and fire you, making you live out on the streets. Insurance is a business that is in it for making money. And if Illinois is anything like California, you have to have insurance to drive or else everytime you get pulled over, you lose your car. If you decide to drive recklessly in each new car, this is going to end up costing you a lot more money than the thrill it will provide.

I've totalled 1 truck and 2 cars. I just had a minor accident with my 4th truck yesterday morning. Obviously, I'm a bad driver. Accidents happen, as I said last night I was in an accident earlier this week myself. Shit happens, but when you ask for it to happen by driving irresponsibly, you're an idiot and have only yourself to blame. ie: Running a stop sign as this moron did.

Sometimes if I'm in a rush I'll roll a stop sign going literally 5mph and look, but it's not very common.
