Do you guys bother with them? I was just looking at an advertisement for a screensaver that "sets your desktop on fire," and was thinking about how I haven't used any sort of screensaver in about 5 years.

Do you use them?

Where do you get them from, or do you make them yourself?

My screensaver is just a slideshow of all my pictures. I like it a lot, actually.

I had that going on for a month last year actually(other than that the 5 year thing is true!), but I had some naughty pictures of someone in that folder, and then tao pictures, and it just made for an awkward screensaver.

Hehe yeah. I go with the pictures slideshow. I just have to hope something bad or awkward doesn't come up when someone's in my room. :p

Screen savers were meant to prevent images burning into the crt screen.

Two things have killed them. LCD monitors don;t need to worry about it, and most CRT monitors are set for energy saving by shutting down completely anyways,

BTW, anyone stupid enough to download those active screensaver/desktop programs deserve it when their computer dies.
