Awesome job keeping the tourny clean however might i request that you not show his ip to the public, everyone knows he was wrong but this could put his computer and personal information in danger in more than one way(hackers/viruses).
If it were to get into the wrong hands it would not be good, just a friendly piece of advice. :)

It's not just sharing accounts. The IP that registered hot potato for this tournament is not on his rev account. The IP that registered Rampage for this tournament is on the rev account "hot potato." it's pretty easy to tell if somebody is actually using the same IP's or if somebody is just using somebody else's account.

I honestly dont understand how this can be funny man this is a serious matter and I am not going to lie, making some other person I do not know get in trouble for something that I did.

Im not going to make an excuse for what I did but this is an unjust disqualification from the PSST. I have been working my butt off to get in shape for this tournament and the screenshots posted above are from at least a couple months before today. We did it as a joke because we werent taking tao seriously at the time and were bored one night. Now that we are, the person who gave the screenys to meat has released them out of spite for us or perhaps to give his own team an edge in the tournament.

I have been told by meat to talk to HK about my disqualification and although I am unsure of what will happen, I can assure you all that I will fight this to the best of my abilities.

When did I say I "made up for my actions" bax. My account on rev is being deleted and this should be punishment enough. It would be, in my oppinion, unjust to remove me and tugnus from the tournament, placing both our teams at a disadvantage because of something we did several months ago.

Im not saying me and tugnus are going to be a huge loss to our teams, but the fact remains, he should have posted those screenshots when he took them. Although I am prepared to serve my 90 day suspension from TAL, I just find the timing of the s/s suspicious and unjust.

When your question is answered three times over, and you continue to argue, you're now arguing for the sake of arguing. According to the Forum/Game Rules posted:

If you suspect anyone is sharing accounts at all, let myself, meat, or Mag know. We'll check IP logs and if we find a connection we'll DQ them aswell.

He reported it because it was wrong. Regardless of his intentions, we're obligated to investigate. Meat didn't DQ him or I didn't TAL ban him until we investigated the matter, and found sufficient evidence to back the screenshotted admission.

Joking or not, boosting is a violation of the TOS. Saying you boosted as a joke won't get you deleted, DQ'd or TAL banned, but expect an investigation to happen if we get a screenshot.

As for you, Eagle, with your question of bullshit confessions/screenshits: Ask Justice, I recieved a few screenshots that showed inconclusive evidence of him boosting, confronted him about it, and he explained they were out of context. IP logs showed no proof, and I couldn't find sufficient proof otherwise.

I'm willing to have a conversation (something I think MTAO is incapable of) about all of these things. I've expressed my side of things (PS: how would you react as a tournament host of 140 members if you found the IP of a different tournament player on the account fo someone else, eh? Or perhaps received screenshots of someone boosting? All while you're trying to make a fair tournament for everyone? Do you suppose you would have done any different?), and I have told both hot potato and spencer 555 that I was going to talk to Mag and HK about their place in PSST.

As of right now, based on initial evidence on BOTH counts (and neither counts of which you can deny were evidece: S/S and IP addresses), the users in question have been DQ'd. Am I willing to make exceptions? Absolutely--hell--I already have. I certainly dont gain anything or receive sadistic pleasure from disallowing users to participate in fun events.

But if you're going to accomplish anything with me, it's not going to start with "meat you're a biased douchebag" or "there is some seriously underhanded garbage going on in this tournament." Both Rampage and spencer have pleaded their cases to me politely and calmly--and they're good cases--and I'm thinking about it. It is shocking to me that the people who were actually reprimanded had the wherewithal to actually act in a manner than accomplished something. While their captains, people I appointed of which I assumed would be able to engage in this conversation, run in with their arms flailing.

To anyone who feels they are more qualified to make these decisions and deal with the tremendous pile of drama that PSST dumps on myself and the TAL staff, by all means please do apply to run PSST next year. But unless you have something constructive to say in a matter that may actually spark my attention, seriously... shut up.

First get your facts straight before you talk dumbass. I wasn't trying to get spencer delete it, bludz told me to send him the s/s of bonesplitter boosting cause I told him he had adminted boosting to me and I pm'ed those s/s to bludz not knowing it was spencer. I thought it was tugnus and bonesplitter boosting. I did not randomly sent those s/s to bludz. Bonesplitter is not even in this tournament. If you don't believe me, you can ask bludz yourself. I didn't report those s/s before cause I did not care that spencer had boosted, till I got bonesplitter and spencer mixed up today that I was talking to bludz, hence why someone posted a s/s of meat asking spencer if he was bonesplitter in the lobby.

It would be pretty "underhanded" of me to be biased toward the tournament and try to DQ people who weren't on my team--something your 10th pick accused me of. So that's been still fresh in my mind, hense me thinking you were talking to me.

If you or anyone on your team has shared an account or might have their IP logged into another participants account, you must let myself, Mag AND Meat know (ALL of us).

The tournament has now officially begun, so anyone who shares accounts from this point forward will be punished accordingly. Those who notify us about past shared IP's will be exempt for their past actions.

Failure to notify us will be no excuse, and will be treated as though a fresh infraction. Automatic DQ from PSST4 will take place, and possible further TAL sanctions; including but not limited to temporary TAL ban, deduction of TAL points, or permaban.

Best way to handle this is let your captains know, and have them contact us with a list of users who have or might have shared accounts in the near past. If you have any worries about this, it's better to ask a question than stay silent and risk screwing over your team becuase you didn't speak up.

Either way, I had no wish to cause the disqualification of Tugnus or spencer 555. The more people participating in this tournament the better. I didn't think they would get DQ'd, and in fact I had no idea that the s/s' were going to be of them, I thought they were going to be someone else. Once I get the evidence of boosting though, I'm not going to just let it go, so naturally I did what had to be done and posted it in the mod lounge.

If it were up to me, I would not have them disqualified. However I am not part of the TAL staff, so it isn't my decision.

Deto and I being on the same team has very little relevance to this. The only reason that it helped the transaction is that we were talking in clan chat. If you sent me the s/s' you are talking about, and they are sufficient evidence for a deletable offense, I am going to do the same thing that I did with deto's s/s, whether the people in them are on my team or not. I am not promoting you trying to get people kicked out of the tournament, but my job is to punish those who break the rules. If the punishment gets doubled by the TAL mods, there isn't anything I can do about it.

You can make as many assumptions as you want about the intentions of detonation and myself, but
1. You can't know what our intentions were.

I think Mag's post proves Shinoks point. I know the intention to deliberately ban someone was never there and Deto was just reporting an incident to Bludz because he should if he hears about one. However if Mag says that he won't TAL ban anyone or DQ them from PSST for past incidents then the Spencer and Tugnus incident certainly falls into that category.

Im not going to make an excuse for what I did but this is an unjust disqualification from the PSST. I have been working my butt off to get in shape for this tournament and the screenshots posted above are from at least a couple months before today. We did it as a joke because we werent taking tao seriously at the time and were bored one night. Now that we are, the person who gave the screenys to meat has released them out of spite for us or perhaps to give his own team an edge in the tournament.

I have been told by meat to talk to HK about my disqualification and although I am unsure of what will happen, I can assure you all that I will fight this to the best of my abilities.

For most things there is a statutes of limitations just not murder or treason. I am not bringing up the old spence argument just correcting you for the sake of being bored at work and watching the clock.

IP's are only logged for a short period of time. If the servers kept records of every IP logged onto an account, it'd be an insane amount of storage.

Not really, even as a flat file IPs are just a few characters and if you compress it or store it in a DB (not that I have seen TAO know how to use a DB) it is even less of a problem. Any publically traded company has to hold IPs and alot of other info for 90 days at least because of sarbanes oxley (dont think TAO falls into this category though). If TAO did keep those IP records longer it could deter the child pred types looking for kids to cyber with from even coming on to the servers.

The 2nd round winner will be the winner of the tournament. The third round will begin with a new draft--of captain appointed captains--and will be entirely a individual bragging rights round for major TAL points. Everyone knows who the big players of this tournament will be at that time.

The 3rd round will be shorter with less people (I'm thinking each team gets a 20 person draft cap). Anyone with a DQ loss from Round 1 or 2 will be disallowed to be draft eligible. It'll be kind of like a fun way to wrap up PSST4 with PSST4.5: Same teams, new captains, new players. Play against the people you trained with!

I'll refine this a little more and come up with a specific way for judging it, drafting it, and prize values. It's in the Alpha phase of my mind. But I think it'd be fun. Any ideas are welcome.

hmm, given that the teams are capped at 20 or less, i dont see any inactive peeps being drafted. It could work but why not an extra smaller psst in its place? 4 days per round, 4 teams... winners move on to gold round vs other winners....
