View Full Version : Stop paying accounts.

I think this is probably the most stupid suggestion, and I think it sounds quite lame too, but here I go. I'm not a genious at how much this game costs, nor do I know how much it costs, but here's my guess. If everyone stopped paying for their account, maybe Bills wouldn't get so much money about it. Then he would probably realize that this game has become trash and would probably sell it to someone interested in buying it. That person who buys it would eventually advertise this game and do what Bills hasn't done in years.

What say you folks? stop paying your accounts for 1-2 months and lets see if it works. If your account is deleted and it does not work, do not blame me. :p

Not enough people will do this..I mean even if everyone on the forums did it...Bills would have money still. Also, he obviously doesn't care. he knows he could make more money with upgrades.

What do forum people have to do with ingame people? Most forum people don't even get on TAO anymore.

Why wouldn't we try the more simple solutions before we try something this radical?

Simple solutions? They've offered a sh*tload of money before and that guy hasn't accepted it. What other solution would you offer?

I wholeheartedly agree. In fact, I agree so much, I will retroactively not pay for any account in the past year and a half. :)

how about mass amounts of people bug the crap out of him until he updates the game?
better idea.
and when i mean bug the crap out of, i mean a hundred people at least sending him a message or email or anything a few times a day.

We've been talking about this exact thing in the banff thread...I'll just get a piece that I've already written...

This game is fun, and is appealing to certain strategic types of people. We need to get this game out so people can find and play it.

Most of us discovered this game just by stumbling arcross it when it was being "advertised" on a different site, but a lot of the game sites like Addictinggames.com don't advertise TAO anymore. Thus the number of new players has decreased.

I alone can put this link up on my myspace which has thousands of views, and post a bulletin to all of my friends. By taking 10 minutes of my life I have advertised this game to a couple hundred people.

Hell get crazy with this.

If you live in a city with 100,000 people. Go graffiti TacticsArena.com on the side of a huge building, or burn the website onto a huge football field. Im sure it will be in the news papers and you advertised to 100,000 people. Before you know it there will be new people all over the place, and money flowing into TAO.

To beef this up even more take a knife and etch Tactic Arena Online across some innocent person's face. (Some guy during the presidental race carved Obama into a womans face and that made national news!) Bam! National news advertises this game to millions of people! Again, before you know it there will be new people all over the place, and money flowing into TAO.

btw, I was just kidding.. You dont need to go hurt people and graffitii...:)

In the next 48 hours WE could advertise to thousands. Which of course means more money to this game, more clans, rivalry, people to talk to, strategic people, and more fun.

If we had a group of people that were advertising, and a group of people that would relentlessly send E-mails to the administators sooner or later your going to make a big impact.

This wouldn't take that much time, but hopeing for the best results in a freeze-out is just a little crazy...

There are MAYBE 40 actual golds on the forums that would do this.

Hardly enough to matter.

You would need AT LEAST 1000 accounts to mass cencel for Bills to notice.

Forum members have like 1/10th of the gold accounts. You'd be better off trying to convince the spoiled 11 year olds. Nice idea, but it's like communism.

...

If you thought your suggestion was both lame and stupid - and therefore unlikely to be implemented or significantly noticed - why suggest it?

Also, this isn't the first time this idea has been suggested.

What do forum people have to do with ingame people? Most forum people don't even get on TAO anymore.

The fact that you're preaching specificaly to forum members has to do with this.

And I may not be active in-game but I'm currently paying for 2 golds, and I'm probably not the onlyone.

I'm not a genious

The irony of it is killing me.

But other than that, TAO is a spent game. Instead of mass canceling accounts to get some change, you are better of finding Seed's dead body, resurrecting it, and getting him to update the game.

You know that Bills literally CANT update the game right? He has neither the rights not the ability to.

This is Seed's game, and only Seed can alter the code to give any sort of update. And since Seed stopped caring a long time ago, there won't be any new units for a LOOONG time, if ever.

Even if Bills advertised more, and more people came, the game would still be the same old thing, and most of the people that come here will get bored and leave. Putting us in the exact same situation we're in now.

Actually, he does have the ability. I've been on a couple of Bills other projects, and his coders could handle the game files just fine.

Bills could VERY easily make a good case that Seed violated the contract by not providing updates. Not a single court in US or Canada would find fault if he took care of the game.

Which would make it hard to communicate with the people that do pay for the game still if the people reading here mostly do not pay for it. :p

Bill will, and never will log in again. he sold this site to UGO.

I know that but I thought they still let him do stuff on it.

Well that is beyond my point. That has nothing to do with that I am talking about.

Whether Bill is here or not, I'm just informing the owner of the website that there are still some uncovered flashes, still here.

That's all.
the only admin who logs in once each 4 months is Serg. not bill.
Well does it really matter? As far as I'm concerned, Serg does not own the website.
he administrates the site.
He administrates the forum.
yes he does. now... after this discussion, maybe this thread is dead. what do you think? does it have to be locked or leaved like this?
well, since bill doesn't own the site. Then which admin comes from UGO?

bo1? Hoonkong? redbones?

Sound Familiar? Maybe he sold this site to someone too.

No, Bills still owns TAO. Serg works with Bills, as well as Redbones.

It's one of the reasons the trademarking here went from FPS to TAO Gaming Inc.

The difference, in his mind, is that TAO makes money with very minimal action on his part. So why bother spending time here.
