If you agree on a style to play, you may play it. If not, the default style is Freestyle.
Winners will receive 1 point.
Losers will receive 0 points.
A win by disqualification results in +.5 points.
A loss by disqualification results is -.5 points.
Losing a bench game does not remove you from the tournament; you are still active in your roster. Bench game outcomes can only affect your Bench Score.
Highest Bench score at the end of the tournament wins the 6th Man Award and 4 TAL Points!

Description: Like El Cid did with me, I did my homework against LosPollos, and it proved to be the most important part of the match.

It was an opposite side game, his off centered form meant to counter a second corner turtle, my standard backrow turtle. I got first turn and went on the attack. I unstoned first, and let him unstoned me for his wisp. I then keyed on his scout, and hoped for a frontal, which I got. He moved in with his other scout and DT, but my wisp made perfect protection from the attack.

He managed to kill my cleric, but at this point in the game, I don't really need it. My units are (for the most part) in good shape, and his only rage is a weak scout, with only a DT and knight afterwards (with a frost, knight, and DT in my base, and a scout out on the attack).

I brought my wisp back in, and it took 2 shots on his scout to kill it, but I did. Wisp/frost combination was too much for his knight to handle.

Good game Eggman. You would've had me if I used a second corner.

Comments: Well played on both parts IMO. It was opp sides, his classic backrow vs my offcenter thinger-ma-jig. I think i would have had a good chance of winning, but alas i was forced to roll the dice in my scout blocking a frontal, and i lost it. I tried my luck on his scout, but it was not nearly as lazy as my scout :p . I was almost able to come back after getting his cleric and not losing my own, but with only a scout, dragon, and knight left to attack with i was wisp-whored to infinity and beyond. GG

-edit- Yes, i was hoping for you to still use your second row, as you did in your other 3 games :p

First off: thanks Santi. I'm not exactly sure HOW I'm playing so well in this PSST (I went 0-2 last year) but I'm definitely not going to complain :p

Secondly, the only reason I have the best record in the tournament is because I've already played my game. There are other players who will have 4 wins by the end of this round.

Lastly, LosPollos, I wanted to say that you played one Hell of a game. In all honesty, had I not done my homework on you and known you'd counter my second corner (and worked against a form similar, if not exact to yours) I very likely would have lost. I can tell you put a lot of work into getting ready, just from what your teammates had told me (I'malive and blud were already saying you had it won). Good on you man. You played a Hell of a game, and I'm glad I got to play you. Good luck to you next round, whether it be for gold, or for bronze.

eh, they are my predictions, you can disagree however you want;)
Personly, Pika is really strategic in how he plays, he thinks things out way more than others here.
So even if he isn't a turtler, i think he can pull it off, just with practice and strategy.
I have never played s][n, so i don't know exactly how he plays.
If he plays like he posts, then he is a kind just to wing it going into a game, and this will be to pika's advantage.

Well I'm not sure what you guys consider organized gameplay but in important games where I try to play at my best I think 3+ moves ahead eliminating possibilities, I set moves for myself, try to anticipate opponents movement, and decide what type of gameplay I want to do(rush, sit back, etc.)

He came on strong from the start and made it difficult for me to go on the offensive. However, I saw an opening and decided to take it with my scout. Unfortunately, it put my scout in danger and made me take a witch blast. I barriered and he cut off the angle to his cleric for my scout. So, I focused back on killing his weakened knight. My pyro came in handy for this part, but when I later moved him back to heal, I made my usual mistake of putting an injured pyro in front of an injured barrier ward, which gave him both at the cost of just his witch (something I could have easily later taken care of). From there on out, I got frustrated and took my chances with rushing in. A couple of pyro blocks (one being three percent) and some dumb moves on my part caused it to be an utter failure. However, he used his barrier well and positioned his pieces in a manner where I couldn't get to the cleric. And from there, he picked them off one by one. Luck wasn't so much of a factor, rather it was a series of stupid decisions on my part and the few lucky blocks he did get, just further exposed how dumb they were. A fitting way for me to lose. Well played by him, but definitely not on my part. Only didn't say good game because I wasn't satisfied with the way I played. He deserved the win though and out-smarted me.

Spencer clearly sees the same that I do in Mith. Without Mith, VS wouldn't be doing as it is. In my opinion, Mith has done more for the team than AFO does. MVP doesn't necessarily mean you have to be the one with the best record either.

I'd disagree with you there, Daniel. If by TAL points you mean IROK is the one who most has TAL points and in our team there are 5 people tied with 3 TAL points. IROK hasn't exactly beat top notch players, unlike Rubbish and some other folks with 3 TAL. I wouldn't say TAL really matters as to who should be awarded MVP or anything.

I don't know who nomad or bax have beaten (I'm sure they weren't all noobs...) but I've beaten DOCTOR DEVICE, Matzer, and Zadico who were all very good players. I think Nomad's point was just that we have several players who have won 3 or 4 games in a row, which he thinks is "consistent". Perhaps Spencer just meant that we don't have one player who has clearly done better than all the others??
