Comments: I set up with a mage + GA counter on one side, and a stone/scout/dragon/knight cluster in front of my centre cleric. Stg was on the side AWAY from my counter. The first parts of the game were us volleying back and forth with our few range. I finally got stg's GA, and the game spiraled down for them. Great game :)

Comments: Fml. Game starts with my having a counter-centre [but in the corner], and he has a counter same side [opposite side of my corner]. He gets three unit-saving blocks throughout the game, whilst I hardly blocked at all. The ending was razor-close: his 18HP frost, pyro, sassy, and furg against my Scout, assassin, cleric, furgon, barrier ward. I could get his frost in 5 moves with my assassin [he had frozen my scout -- which was in barrier range, and I had locked his furgon down with my furgon]. I was lagging all game, too, so it went very slowly. At the end...right when I could see the kill coming on his frost... BAM disconnected. *cry*

A very good game. Fortune smiled upon me more than she did on Vintage, though I have certainly seen more one-sided games. We both had pretty balanced sets that could handle either opp or same, but mine hoped for same and his hoped for opp, and we got same. I also got second turn, which was useful considering the mages. Then I got a dsm side block, followed by a front hit on his dsm, which was not cool. Shortly after that, he got a key side hit on my knight for the kill, which helped even it up a bit, though not enough in my opinion. But I got his scout early on, and dealt a lot of damage to his dragon. He made a mistake I think by not trying to save the dragon, considering the quick rush was unsuccessful for getting my cleric, and after we traded ambushers, we both had cleric, chanty, stoney, but it was my dragon and scout against his knight. He did as well as he could, setting clever chanty traps and setting me up to make mistakes, but I managed to avoid them and wittle him down with my range. Good game Vintage, best of luck.

The whole point of Random Units is to give you unit choices that you're not very comfortable with... Take you outside your comfort zone and test your ability to make a set, and play the set that you're unfamiliar with.

Comments: I got a lot of luck and while it definitely did make a difference in the game we played (the game would have been completely different had my luck not been so good) im pretty confident based on the start i had that i would've been able to play a very good and close game regardless of my luck. The game started off with me taking both his pyros for nothing and ended up being his stoned knights in my base with him taking my wisp and chanty, but him also being without his pyros and wisp and one of his knights severely damaged and his scout being damaged as well.

EDIT: IROK summed it up pretty well as well. I wish he hadnt missed that time on Thursday because he did seem to not be thinking as well as i know he can.

I had to take out his witch since it was threating my cleric and since it blocked. I had to use an extra turn to kill it which let him kill my wisp and witch without using them. I tried to came back, he did some good wisping and he ended up killing my knight from the side when he had like 20% chance to hit lol. No way I could have won. Gg I guess.

My situation is seriously frustrating, especially with Advent. He has seen Alexa (Skittle) at least 2 times in the lobby and been on forums both at the same and Advent didn't want to play his game. Seriously, this is very frustrating. I'm leaving town in about 6 hours, and I'm sure I'll come back to play a very tight game. My opponent knowing this could seriously take advantage over this crap when Advent could've played Alexa within this week..

Rub wins. The way the opening sets went, first turn was bound to decide a lot, and he got it, making it impossible for me to get the offense, and costing me my wisp early in the game. He played it well, and scout and knight blocks to go along with his first turn was just impossible to overcome. Good game anyway.

Gall has seriously got me very pissed now. We've tried to arrange 3 times games already, first time she didn't even bother coming. Second time she was in the lobby AFK and I actually gamed bonesplitter since she wasn't answering (not like she ever answered back), right now she says she can play anytime now and we're on the lobby and she says she's got to go but that we can play in 3 hours.

Pika won rock scissors paper. Pika won the coin flip of sides (his turtle vs my anti, opps). We both knew it was fairly over from there, but I played a great rush, at least as well as I could. I knew I didn't have much chance anyway, but it was the best shot I had. He hit my pyro from the side, I healed, he hit it again, then I advanced it as my mud was recovering, putting huge pressure on his furgon defense. At +33 blocking, he front hit it, thoroughly surprising us both, and crippling what little chance I had in the first place. Considering how close I was to getting his cleric, I'm pretty sure if my pyro had blocked, I'd have gotten it and could have won the game. So overall, a pretty frustrating final game for me. Pika played it well, but he had a LOT of help. Oh well, such is the TAO way.
