Description: His center DSM rush vs my anti. He made a mistake early by wasting his DSM on my scout. I swiftly killed his DSM and made his pyro useless and continued with my counter attack. I focused on his scout, and got it, and though I made a bad move with my scout (I kept it in DT range when I meant to move it out) I managed to get his mud as well.

I focused on his knight then, and he retreated. With no frost, and only 2 knights, a DT, scout, pyro and cleric against my 3 knights and DT (with frost and cleric) I easily had the win (I took his knight early and he really never had a shot)

In the screenshot his knight is at 23 HP and his cleric is about to die.

Note: I would like to say that I am not complaining about the fact that his pyro blocked. It simply allowed him to get my 2 knights and DT for his DSM.

It was a crappy thing to happen, but it did not necessarily decide the game. I had pretty large form disadvantage and he still would have had 2 burns in either way. It just kept me on the back foot for the duration of the match (all 5 minutes of it)

My dsm/pyro bomb vs his anti. I got uber lucky. Dsm blocks first frontal, then later, blocks a side killing shot. I made a mistake though, in choosing to kill knight rather than blast 3 units. He made a great come back, got a couple of crucial blocks (no complaints from me, he deserved it) and it came down to my dragon, scout, knight vs. his knight and 2 scouts (neither of us could advance because all units were close to death)

Comments: Kinda a lame game due to the luck. We both use dsm rushes. Though his is more for same sides, which he got. I get first turn, attack his dsm, of course it blocks. So he burns me and then I burn him. From there its a kill fest. I then get luck and kill his dragon, though it would have died anyways.

Afterwards he then gets two straight shots on my scout, kills the bastard. Then his archer blocks. Then my other archer blocks. And I probably miss some things but it was just weird. Anyways as always, good game skev.

Comments: His rush vs my rush. I got 2nd turn, so I was benefited in that case, but I did a very silly move and allowed him to burn 4 of my units instead of 2-3. Anyway, game was very close and position was very hard in both case, but apparently time ran out for him since he was thinking a move too much and quaked. His quaking was evidently stupid since it did not kill my 9 hp knight (1 hp at that moment) and gave me enough turns to take him out. By the time he tried to kill my 1 hp knight it blocked giving me more turns to beat him. Those 2 moves basically unbalanced the game and gave me the win. After that, I had some pretty good luck that basically sealed the deal and pinned any chance he had. Gg deto, sucks that you couldn't do the appropiate move due to the lack of time. :(

Comments: If had second turn I'd have had a pretty good advantage but since he had first turn I only got one burn. It was really paired up the whole game until mid-game where I made a crap move with my mud golem lol, I was thinking what to do and time was about to ran out so I ended up doing a pretty bad move that killed my own pyro, didn't kill his 9 hp knight and it didn't get his 21 hp knight down to 17 hp lol. That pretty much screwed me up, that's the first time that something like that happens to me in a tourny game lol, it was my mistake though. Good game lieu.

Comments: We agreed to play alpha turt. I really really enjoyed this game, we both used the same back row sets opp side, he had first turn. I was losing at some point cause he had the offensive due first turn. He was pretty much exchanging his mud for my mud and scout. Then I gained momentum when I rushed in with my knight, dragon and stoned scout. I took out his dragon and scout for pretty much nothing. We exchanged wisp. Then I took his cleric. I exchanged my frost and knight for his frost, and cleric. It ended with my cleric, stoned scout and full hp dragon vs his knight and scout. Good game man, and well played. I hadn't play one of these games in a while due the fact I've been only using second rows for the past few months..... and people only using second rows and off center turtlers as well.

Description: We agreed to a turtle game, and I personally played one of the best games of my TAO career.

We both used standard back row turtles, and I got first turn, and moved up and hit his DT with my scout (mine then blocked, one of the few times my DT ever blocks anything). I continued to put on the pressure, and unstoned him and took one of his scouts, for him unstoning me. He then got my mud, but I managed to cripple his mud, which I took a couple of turns later. He went on the attack, focusing on my scout, and a front block put me in position to take his remaining scout, but he played it well, and let my DT survive (22 HP and stoned) to kill my scout with his DT. I then managed to use my wisp effectively, but he ran his DT away. I took a risk trying to kill it with a 43% frontal (if it had hit, I would've won the match so I felt it was worth the risk) but as it should have, it blocked.

He used his DT to take my cleric, and I took his frost. It was here that I made the critical mistake that I believe cost me the match. He DT had 2 turns to wait, and his frost was dead no matter what, and I SHOULD have moved my frost and refroze his scout, and blocked LOS to my frost with my scout (also killing his frost). Had this happened, he would have been forced to waste a turn to get my frost, and I would have been able to damage his scout and unstone him. However, I did not move my frost, and he managed to take it easily.

Either way, it was a great game on both parts, and even though I lost, there was no way I feel I could have played any better (aside from the frost move).

When you take a brake like him and clean your mind a little bit from TAO, you can usually focus a little bit more and also you can play a little bit more risky, is somehow a refreshment that gives you strenght in the most of the cases, but there are exceptions of course.

Eh, I could have ran away with my scout either way, getting like 2 shots more on any of your units. We probably might had exchanged scout for scout, then it would have been my dragon, cleric and stone vs your stone and knight.

I Also think it was a great game man, I wish I'd have recorded that game. I hadn't play one of those standard back row vs back row opp side games that ended really close and well played from both sides in a while.

You made a really good move in the beggining that I was hoping you wouldn't see cause there were other good options too. It was when you moved your injuried dragon behind your scout and blast my mud, you made some really good moves to save him, first you didn't let me wisp him and placed your scouts in very good position protecting him from my dragon and wisp and then you moved him behind your scout and blast my mud. Because I was planning to kill your dragon and when you did that move, I was starting to get very frustrated cause of the fact you were killing 2 of my units already and had good position while none of your units were close to die yet lol. Only your dragon was very injuried but he was really safe after you moved him behind your scout. I had to be really patient and think hard about how to rush in and even out the unit disadvantage I had. :)

Yes, 2 pts by the end of the third week, 1 point by the end of the month. This should encourage everyone to play their games and penalize those who don't, even if they get a walkover win that someone else earned a win.

It's also a way to reward people and not give out extra TAL points, considering RGL is pumping out enough each month as it is.

I traded his wisp to free his mud, and I got his scout in the trade as well.

Now, it's his scout, mud, frost, stone, and cleric vs my scout, DT, frost, stone, knight and mud. I meet him halfway down the field, and get his scout with a side hit, but he freezes my scout. I freeze his knight. I figured he would attack my DT, but if it blocked, the game was over. Instead, he went for my frost, so I went for his knight. Due to his own mistake, he quaked to unfocus my frost, leaving his knight at 16 HP. I killed it with my knight from behind, and at that point I knew I had the game won. Even though they had low HP, I had 3 attacking units and a frost to his 1 and frost.

He claims he lost because of his last move, moving his frost, but I would get his mud either way. In the screenshot, his frost was beside his mud, and I moved my knight to where it is now. His mud is at 10 HP with 1 turn wait, and his cleric has 1 wait as well. My scout is good to go. So no matter his move, I am able to kill his mud on my next move.

Either way, good game Lieu.

It was a good game. But I lost the game in 3 different situations.

1) Misclick I gave you back
2) Quaking my knight putting him in 16 hp.
3) The fact that in the end I did not aim for either your scout or DT (11,15 hp respectively), but instead quaked your knight which was in full health. By going for a side shot on DT and hitting it, I would've frozen your 11 hp scout and pretty much game was over there for you.

Doesn't matter, I played awfully once I had a good advantage and let you kill too many of my units.

The DSM block wouldnt have mattered, he woulda had just enough hp to deal the killing blow on ur DT even if u had gotten that hit. In the end, I think had I played less sloppy at the beggining (did two movement mistakes that allowed u to move up doing excellent damage with the BR and DSM) the scout block would have been irrelevant and I woulda won even if u had gotten it :)

She purposely didn't unfreeze her knight using her dragon. My frost was in range of her dragon, but she knew that should she unfocus it, i'll refreeze and then drag hers, winning the game. She was hoping that I would forget about it, so she could get the draw.

How is that "ignorance of game mechanics"? If I want to draw with someone, i'll pass turns untill we draw. The draw function shouldn't be needed when there is a clear winner. I don't count the number of turns I have to pass, because I would never do that to anybody else, and even if I did, I would still give them the win. Sorry for not mentioning so much stuff before, It never crossed my mind you would bring it up.

The draw function should be used when 2 players want to draw, not by one to have a rematch for something they already lost. That's why it's called the DRAW function, and not the AUTOMATIC REMATCH function.

Had I realized she was going to do that, I would've just healed. If I refroze, He could Unfreeze again using drag, and that would lead to a messy situation.


I won the game fair and square, and I don't think I should be cheated out of this simply because I didn't expect everyone to be such douchebags.

well is a case to case basis but in our case obviously its all your fault why it came into a draw game..u had your cleric and frost why u didnt move one of them?? so dont tell me i played you dirty ok. coz i never played dirty...lesson learned never forget the mechanics..take care

It's up to you to play smart in the end game, especially when you're down to a DT or any other 3 turn recovery unit each. No need to discuss this further really, the game ended in a draw regardless of whether it was sloppy play or her intentionally wanting the draw.

You're not cheated out of anything; the game drew, period. Circumstances are irrelevant. If there's a 22 hp knight against a full health dragon, any good player will look for the 3-turn no move draw, including myself.

Learn from it, and you will be prepared for next time =)

We continue to play, and I manage a little more luck then him, but he managed a knight frontal on my knight. It ended up being my 3 knights against his 2 knights, mud, scout, and LW, but his units were lower in HP (mud at 11 HP, 1 of his knights at 12).

He 12 HP knight blocked, and he retreated it, and I took his scout. I went for a side hit on his knight, which would have brought it to 16 HP against my 33 HP knight, but it blocked and he killed my knight. I took his mud, and I managed a frontal on his knight, making it my 33 HP knight to his 16 HP knight. It came down to me needing a side block from my knight with + blocking, but he managed the hit.

Comments: I lost it within 2 minutes, it was not a good start for me. It was same side anti's, and that is my favorite way to play, so i was happy when i saw the sets. I got first turn, and side hit his DT, he moved his DT to blast me scout in the side and threaten my cleric. I should have moved my injured scout back to the back row and hit his DT in the back, instead i blasted his DT in the back with my DT< taking it to 26. He then got a scout frontal on my scout with his scout, which hurt, but not too bad, if i could have traded it for his DT. BUt, the DT blocked my next knight hit, leaving it at 26 with 2 turn wait. IN my mind, i was claculating if i could still kill it after a heal with 2 knights hits. so, 26+12=38. In my mind, i divide this by 2 and get 18, not 19. I have no diea how i did this, as Math is my best subjective, and i am going to become on engineer...anyways, i hit him with a knight after he hit my mud, and then he heals, taking his knight to 20. I was like.....$%&#! b/c i new i could not kill it with my knights before he could kill my cleric with it. I was forced to freeze it, and kill it the next turn when my DT got off wait. BUt he unfroze me with his mudquake, and i couldnt block a scout LOS and take out the DT to save my cleric. So i was forced to kill the DT for my scout, cleric, and damage to forst, and mud, and some crappy positioning. He was able to cost most of the way after that, but i also misclicked, and scout hit my knight later in the game when it was my 2 knights, DT, 20 scout vs his 3 knights? scout frost and cleric. So it was lost, but o well.

Comments: We decided to play a grey game, I got TERRIBLE luck at the beggining of the game which kept things interesting, and he managed to somehow get a unit advantage on me even though I should have been steemrolling him (his witch got two saving front blocks, his pyro got a saving front block and his sassy got a saving side block), but towards the end of the game luck started to even out and I managed to come back from an 8-7 unit disadvantage getting a 37% hit on his knight and a pretty much game winning 55% hit on his sassy. gg deadpool, you almost had me at a few points in that one :P

How can you call almost the exact sets (not going into much details) be counter........? Only difference was I was spread by 1 tile, beside I rarely use this set on tourney games, but I do use it when for stats

I dont usually find an LW to be a big problem in my games vs them, more of an annoyance that I have to walk around, Id say I win 70% of my games where people legitimately try to counter me with an LW.

Also, in your post you say that I am trying to negate all the luck I had that game? Of course Im not, I can admit that you probably woulda won by at least 4+ if I hadnt gotten all the end game luck I had gotten. Im not trying to argue anything with you, I stated that you had a form advantage, that you played an awesome game and that the only reason I was able to keep it close was because of luck.

Description: Opp side game, his LW anti vs my DSM form. One its own, that proved to be a crucial thing, because his form was meant for opp sides.

We play, and I tried to pin his scouts, which he retreated, and I pushed forward. Not really thinking properly, I went on the attack, and he defended well. I made the mistake of not healing, letting him take my scout. After that, I had 2 knights in his base, and desperately needed a block to save my knight (no blocking alterations) but he didn't block. Had I gotten that block, the game would've been a lot closer as most of the units in his base were weakened, and I'd have been able to take his cleric, or at the very least, his scout.

Oh well, good game Stiv.

comments: dsm spread's this time, he got first turn which helped me alot really, however it was my single dsm spread vs a dual dsm spread, instead of killing his dsm immediately like most would, I of course kept my units spreaded out to where he can on ly burn 2 max, and him going first gave me the first burn and able to move my dsm. After that I applied pressure and went aggressive by scouting his cleric than rushing in my mud after he healed, he then had a dsm+mud in his set which had put plenty of pressure.
I got a bit lucky though, but not too much. We started having a muddy party and we both pounded each others knights and other units like crazy.

Comments: Both used dsm, but I had a pyro and he had a knight.... so first turn really helped him alot. Also he had a better mud posistion that helped him quake my dsm and cleric at the same time in one turn. From there it was about who killed faster and spread more damage and like elim said he got a bit of luck but not too much, that pretty much sealed the game. Either way it was pretty close... well played elim. Gg.

I had the game won.... it was my full hp dragon and knight vs his full hp dragon, 1 hp knight and his 20 hp frost that was all the way in the other corner. I didn't pay attention and I blasted his 1 hp knight instead of blasting the 20 hp frost. I killed the knight, my knight and hisfrost were cornered.... then stiv moved his dragon from the other cornered while my dragon had 3 wait turns and traped his frost with his dragon and my knight. Its my fault though, I don't know what I was thinking. Good game I guess.

He d/c part way through but I'd have to play pretty poorly to lose from the position I was in and he said I could take the win.
His scout and DT both have 2 wait but all his units have full health.
My scout has 32 DT 29 and furgy on 26 only my DT and scout have 1 wait. It's his turn.

He had a spread rush with my furgy anti on his mud and beast side, I managed to pressure his beast and mud early with my LW and drag. He made his first major mistake where I could kill his beast with my DT and block off los to my cleric at the same time. After that I was able to kill both his mud and one of his scouts and the knight he had on my side whilst only losing one of my scouts. From the screenshot I could easilly save my DT and it would be a case of simply furg and frost whoring him. Good game though gal.

That's old story Lieu. I know when i make up excuses and when not. If i do some unfair report i usually say i am sorry which is more than you will ever able to do. At least i won't cry and say i am going to leave RGL for losing a few games "bad lucky" ( your usual excuse) games :).
