It was an opp sides game and he started off playing very well. He had a 2 unit advantage but i had dealt quite a bit of damage so wasn't as far behind as it could have looked. He made his biggest mistake at this stage, where he sent in his mud into range of my frosty, and then didn't heal his GA the turn after. I frosted his mud, killed his GA and then he walked his DSM into LW range in attempt to kill my scout. That might not be the exact set of turns involved, but I lost my scout for his DSM GA and muddy in the space of about 3 turns which completely turned the game on its head. Very good game.

This was a odd game, I had a stone turt with a couple ranged units and he had a bomb/rush with a few pyros but very little defense. I start off by attacking his golem ambusher that was near my lw, soon my knight ended up dieing but I was able to bring his scout down to low health. Then I started attacking him and I took out a few units, but soon my attack wasn't working so I retreated my mud so I coudl heal it and stone. My assassin didn't come back but I was able to stone my units and attack again. When I killed his cleric I got a beast side, which pretty much put me ahead and I slowly killed the last of his units and used chanty to finish off.

I suspect a terrible flaw within this tournament structure. I don't know how common it is in other people's games, I haven't paid close enough attention. But it happened in my game with LosPollos. We drafted in such a way that the guy with offense (in this case, me) HAD to put all his attacking force on one side, because there just isn't enough range and firepower to spread it out, if the stoney guy drafts well. LosPollos drafted really well. One of two things I did well in the draft was get the lightning ward shortly after he got the stone, giving me the option to DSM bomb his turtle. I didn't have nearly enough to get him on either side, so I threw it all on one side...and in this case, I got him same side, so I won. Granted, I think LosPollos could have designed his set a little better, to avoid the inevitable pyro placement one off from the wall to nail his cleric. The second thing I did well in the draft was deciding to take the enchantress, which I used to rush in and paralyze his Berz, preventing him from taking a front shot on my dsm. Meh, I'm not a big fan of coin flips. Oh well, maybe if I drafted better, it wouldn't have been one. Good game LosPollos, sorry it turned out that way.

Confirmed. With all your range i knew coming in my cleric didnt stand a chance in a sameside game. There was no way i could block off all 3 possible spots for your dsm/pyro to get my cleric, so i was forced to hope on that one. you getting first turn and being able to freeze my berz was the salt on the wound really. You didnt draft badly though. your only mistake was the one that bludz pointed out in not taking the DMW before the pyro, because there was no way i was taking the pyro. My mistake was not taking the furgon in place of the BW imo. oh well, gg

comments: he played very well, but I got GA / wisp combo which he chose not to block first turn. Outside of that one slip up meph played really well. I made a mistake late miscalculating his knight's range and he took my witch but it didnt really matter. I hit a regular knight side with my berz to seal it.
