"4. Sea Monkeys
...
The reason they’re so active ... is because one of the packets you dump into the aquarium contains a type of salt that increases the sexual activity of the little critters. Yep. Think about that the next time your kid is fascinated by Sea Monkeys."

What favorite toys do you remember from growing up? (or do you have laying around for those young at hearts)

I always just liked your regular old action figures.... I lucked out because I had 5 uncles + my dad who were all into toys when they were kids. So I had the original transformer toys, a bunch of the original star wars toys, and a lot of other cool ass toys that my nana would always buy me... :p

I remember getting the Stretch Armstrong and Stretch Monster dolls when I was in like the third grade. I'd been watching the commercials for weeks and had to have them.
My brothers and I played with them for maybe 20 minutes, pulling and stretching them as far as we possibly could.
Then out came the pocket knives...
We stabbed holes in one of them and this thick greyish stuff oozed out and dripped on the carpet and we couldn't get it out.
My mom was pissed.

Legos for sure.

But me and my brother always played 2 board games.

Omega Virus (http://www.visi.com/~spookshow/files/omega1.JPG)

and a game called Atmosphere, which oddly enough I can't find ANYWHERES on the internet except a new DVD version that costs like $150.

I still have my game, I have had it for YEARS, it comes with a VHS tape that you put in. 6 people can play at once and you take turns trying to collect colored keys. You need 1 of each 6 colors, as you are playing this guy:

http://www.happyhorror.com/pix/Gatekeeper_From_VHS_Board_Game_Atmosfear_Harbinger s_Atmosphere_Scary_TV.jpg

stops you and calls you names and makes you do stuff... its pretty much amazing. We still play it from time to time if we have booze and there's enough people.

Good times.

Hahahahaha.

I could never keep a toy for more than a few days before I ended up breaking it.

I liked those little army dudes. You know.
I also had a castle thingy with little knights I got for a birthday.

When I was little I lived right by these hills with some bmx jumps, i spent most of my time in those hills on my fake motorcycle bike. That thing was bad-ass. "kawasaki, let the good times roll!"

Naw, I shot my sister with the rubber band six shooter. The army guys were used more for Godzilla games and later on, drippy fire.

My pink Big Wheel, Play-Doh, Polly Pockets, and I still love my Legos.

I had Barbies, but never really played with them. I just kinda had them and all my guy friends and cousins used to pop their heads off and make them all naked. :(

Ahem, I said I didn't really play with them!

I liked playing boy games more. And tying a red flying saucer thing to the back of bikes and dragging people around until it flipped. ^_^

Play-Doh,

I went to this day-care thing after school until I was 7, until my mom would get off from work and pick me up. The old bag that watched us there accused me of stealing another girls' play-doh because i'd made mine look like a lot by rolling it out, so she took some of mine and gave it to her.
Never forgiven her for it.

That's what you get for stealing.

Cuz I did..

I used to torch my army men with a can of hairspray and a lighter.

I'm also reminded of the time I got my first Atari. I told my parents I would never ask them to take me to the arcade again.
That lasted about a week.
My dad used to break joysticks like he was on a mission. We'd play this game called Combat, two people trying to shoot eachother with lame looking tanks or lamer looking planes. My dad would always pick the big, slow plane, and I'd pick the smaller, faster ones. The man just didn't get it.
I'd shoot him and he'd spin around, unable to move. By the time he could move again, I'd already be circled around and shooting him again.
He'd basically try to strangle the controller. Beet-red face, swearing and spitting the whole time.
Good times.
:)

Lies, the only boy games were super mario and super mario II. Fail.

There were these Power Rangers action figures where you pressed their belt buckle and their heads flipped from morphed to unmorphed...yeah I had four of the green ranger. I found one in the parking lot of the mall and his face was all scuffed up, but I didn't care because it was Tommy and he was the best. Ever.

My brother before me had four blue variant batman action figures...we were weird. My dad keeps one of each in his bureau as keepsakes, but I think it's just so he can mock us when we have kids.

I had very few Legos as they were expensive when I was a kid. I did really enjoy my Lincoln Logs that mom picked up at some yard sale and I had some Army men that were alot of fun. I also had tons of HotWheels and Matchbox cars....hours and hours of fun right there.

Some of the more bizarre toys I remember was this stupid bird that dipped his beak in the water ever so often, came back up and did it again....stupid.

First electronic toy was a Coleco football game....also had a Coleco Pong game too....BORING!! then came Atari!
