so I'm thinking of getting a tattoo but I am not artistic..I was wondering if any of the artistic people of TAO would like to make a drawing for me? If you do that be great, if not then that's cool to. I want a skull with crossbones and a football underneath or a skull holding a football. Or something with a skull and football. Any help/works would be greatly appreciated! :)

KAP, that's the whole point of going to a shop with a reputable tattoo artist. Most good parlors will setup 2 days for custom work. First meeting will be a short (~30min-1hr) consultation where you talk to the artist and he sketches out a rough idea. Once you guys agree on a concept, he'll tidy it up before your ink date. Last time I went it was to Brian Donovan from Mercury Tattoo in Glenside PA. He had 3 final drafts I picked from all with minor differences.

Now what you want might be much easier, go to a parlor and look through his book/walls for a skull/cross bone you like, probably atleast a dozen or two to choose from. Then bring in a picture of a football and he can probably just set it together for you on the spot and give you a set price instead of charging by the hour.

But yeah, I recommend not going with something lame like skull/cross bones. Remember you'll have it for the rest of your life, so even though it will have meaning, it better be something you'll still want to see in 50 years.

You seem to want the theme of live & die to play football, or something along that concept. I think something like a tombstone in the ground with a skeleton's arm breaking through the ground holding a football would look pretty bad ass as well as being original.

Yeah, KAP... you walk in there and give them an idea and describe some of the finer details you want. Anyone with a steady hand can tattoo a stencil, however the whole "Artist" portion of a tattoo artist comes in with their design ideas and ability to cover/add to existing tattoos.

Getting my next tat in a few weeks, had to reschedule today because I was set to go back Tuesday but not going up there while sick, last thing my body needs is to have ink injected while I'm sick. This one will be a cross with razor wire entangled around it, with a few places the razor wire actually going into my skin and coming out as if binding the cross to me. Then the wire will be snapped in a few places and starting to come loose because although religion may be a part of my lifestyle, I don't conform to the mold that's seen as being a "Good Catholic".

She was in the Red Cross, helping give out pints of blood in a village in Africa. She was slain by guerillas one night.

Hug Life was a saying she said alot, meaning to embrace life. The bicycles represent the bicycle rides we would go on together. The wings represent that even though she is no longer here, she is in a better place.

There is going to be a huge tattoo expo at Navy Pier June 19-21, and I'm going to get a tattoo there.
I plan on getting a nice detailed one on my back shoulder area, not really sure yet which shoulder. Also haven't really decided if I want color or not...
I'm really really excited because I just got a nice bonus at my job, and I'm thinking $200-300 should be enough for a really bad ass tattoo.
