So, you guys been anywhere cool? Have any good stories? Share away!
I'm going to China for the summer through spring semesters to study mandarin and some cultural classes. Hopefully it will be incredibly awesome and I don't die from SARS. I've been to china before for a 2 week vacation and had a great time. This will be more work oriented than a vacation but I bet it is going to be amazing anyway.
Here are a couple experiences from my vacation to China:
My tour guide and the taxi driver were speaking mandarin then suddenly they both laughed out loud, turned around and looked straight at me and my dad.
In the Beijing Zoo (world renowned), their bathrooms were so disgusting that an entire class of elementary school children were peeing on the ground outside the bathroom. Not behind a building but right in the middle of the walkway on a patch of grass.
This weird chinese guy comes out from an alley and motions me, my dad and my stepmom to follow him. We figured that he seemed legit and followed him into the alley. Turns out he had a nice cart with some random objects on it. No raping.
I was walking around alone when I found a video store. I thought to myself "This will be a great time to get some porn". I went into that store and saw an entire wall with woman dressed provocatively on it. These girls were definitely porn stars I thought. I arrive home and put in the tape, all ready to take care of business, when I realize that those asshats fooled me. It was an excercise video with nothing to do with the cover. That is why I'm learning Mandarin.
There is a famous dish in Beijing called "Peking duck". It was the most delicious fowl I have ever consumed. During the meal I drank an odd combination of beer and wine. Later that night I expulled the peking duck, beer and wine out of my stomach. It tasted almost as good going down as it did coming up.:bad::D:bad:
(this is a story from my dad's business trips to China)
He was in a taxi when a cop waved the taxi over. The cop pulled the taxi driver out and forced him into an alleyway. My dad waited over 45 minutes when he left money on the taxi seat and grabbed another ride. What happened to that China man I wonder.
The Great Wall was great...yeah.

I went to Amsterdam last summer, it was great.
I love the space cake, ahaha.
And weed is legal, so it was like heaven.
I've also been to Moscow, Russia. Really fun place, despite the cold, it has so many great skate locations, I loved it.

I've been to Germany a couple of times. There are large sections of my memories that are very blurry but it left a positive image in my mind.
I was in the south Germany area the whole time but I got around a bit. I've learned:
Trains are awesome and a great place to sleep it off for a few hours.
Frankfurt kind of sucks but there are some cool bars there. Places around the outside of Frankfurt are much cooler.
The autobahn is actually pretty lame, clogged with people in micro-diesels that for some reason do not see the need to do 250kph when you can (a lot of two lane autobahn sections + huge traffic + constant construction = slow).
You're pretty much surrounded by history all the time and it's easy to get desensitized to it. "That wall is six hundred years old? I saw a thousand year old wall this morning. Hey look, beer cart."
Beer is great. I already knew this but Europe confirmed it.
Luxembourg is awesome, its one of those melting pots where you can hear ten different languages walking two blocks. Which is good because the whole country is about the size of a football field.
France is alright but Metz is pretty cool.
The amount of stuff to see endless: Trier, Koln, Neuschwanstein, Nuremburg, cathedrals, apostle graves, beer gardens, beer halls, beer steins, beer girls, beer etc.
Traveling is always good times.
I've managed to rack up 37 of 50 states too but that's another story.

Of all the places I've been, I enjoyed Tasmania the most. Beautiful island with cool vicious animals that run around in circles all day. What's cooler than that? And the fact that it was first colonized by felons, hecka cool. The people were nice too.
I wasn't too impressed with Panama City though. It was like LA with a river through the middle. Blah.

Isn't that a new feature that Seed was working on and the reason that Legends is currently down, the 'auto-ban'?

You win for not reading the post. It's kind of like the "You didn't poop yourself award" except you don't get the ceremony.
San Antonio isn't the greatest place but the Riverwalk is cool and the Alamo is interesting. Go here (http://www.latunagrill.com/). Trust me. The place is micro but really cool. They take all the beer caps and dump them in the parking lot and stage area. It's like seven inches deep.

i think i could scrounge up some pictures if you want.
i plan on going to german and finland in the next few years, so ill tell you how it goes when it happens

I don't think I could take Finland seriously after watching Metalocalypse.
Hot finnish girls might help with that.
