Hey, it happens to all of us. We all are clumsy, some more than others. However, some of us injure our selves in unimaginable ways doing day to day tasks and/or doing the extraordinary. In this thread, we'll talk about our worst bumps and bruises and or minor injuries that occur day to day. From the most extreme to the paper cut that annoys the hell out of us.

No flaming or spamming would be appreciated.

Dislocated break of my right ankle.

Foot was moved 3 inches right, slightly back, on the horizontal plane. Happened on a Sunday afternoon. I ended up being ambulanced from Athens to Columbus Ohio, to the Grant Medicaly Orthopedic Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery Center.

I had surgery Monday, sometime. Not sure what time, as I had enough morphine in me that everything up to Monday night went blurry.

I got out of the hospital on Thursday. Spent 6 months with cast/crutches, then 3 more with crutches.
I have 10-15% mobility in the ankle now. I can go down some, up none, twist and turn none.

I talked to a nurse I know that was in the first ER I went to. She said that whenever she sees someone with an ankle injury, she is always able to tell them she's seen worse.

Last November (eh... 4 months ago) I broke my femur, right where it connects to my knee joint. That was fun. Not.

Some stitches in my chin.

Given that's all I've suffered for all the times I should have broken bones, torn everything, gotten a concussion, died etc, I'm starting to think I'm indestructible.

I tore my ACL my freshman and junior high school. Not fun.

The most painful time was during a baseball game I was bunting, and i fouled the ball up at my face. It hit my upper lip, wrapping my braces around my lip and knocking out a tooth, and it hit me right on the flat part of my nose and forcing my nose to break and in a very painful mannor.

A few years ago on New Year's Eve, I was playing frisbee and I went to go chase it and tripped on a rock in my neighbor's yard and sliced my knee on a pile of broken beer bottles. Literally a 4 inch flap of skin was folded over and I could see right through to my bone, not two mention two other 2-inch lacerations. I nearly threw up.

That's the most pain I've really ever been in, but I've had lots of other kinda minor injuries. Three fractured wrists, two broken fingers in one football season last year, sprained ankle, slightly sprained knee, and two concussions.

Tore my hamstring, still bothers me today, took me a year to get my flexibility back.
Right now, my shoulder is messed up, and has been for several months. Cuts down by bench-press by around 20-30lbs.

at shoprite when I was like 12, I tried jumping onto a stack of chairs to sit on, and my pepe got stuck in between two chairs.

It was black and blue for like a week.

Worst: Dislocated elbow. Coach popped it back in during the game, i went back out to play and ended up fraying the nerve (also known as "funny" bone). Just imagine someone sticking a hot knife in your nerve and twisting and thats what a frayed nerve feels like. Did that back in November. Still hurts today to bend it.

Other: Fractured Tibia, two fractured wrists (different times), all fingers except left pinkie either broken or dislocated (i usually break the middle knuckles), dirt bike brands from the exhaust from when i was ten and it fell on me, turf toe in my right big toe, partially dislocated right shoulder (wrestling injury), and a multitude of scars from minor to major cuts.

I broke my wrist and it was only hanging on by a ligament, so they had to do a lot of surgery and put plastic in it, so now its still hurts, but only slightly, if I have too much pressure on it.

Dislocated my knee like 5 years back. It was such a random accident. The team punted the football, I went to get it and my knee just went weird. Horrible experience...

Hairline fracture in my right wrist frm football. (got blindsided and tried to break my fall.. )

umm had a 3-4 inch branch stuck in my cheek. (fell on a bike after blizzard, FACEPLANT!)

and in kindergarden..I was on the rainbow climbing thing (the arched monkey bars?) and i went through the thing or tried to.. my chin caught the bar and I was bleeding crazily. Ended up with stitches.

Have a bunch of scars from riding bikes and taking turns on pegs. Anyone else have some good tire burns from riding on pegs?? I have a good one on my right leg.

my school has those waterproof grip stairs on the outside to get to the scond floor, the stairs are literally cheese graders, they have these spikey teeth in an eye kind of shape.
well when i was like 10 my class was coming down the stairs to get into the other building and these kids were messing around behind me and pushed me, causing me to fall down four or five of the stairs, and then onto a platform about halfway down the stairs. i sliced open both of my legs, the left, being the worst. i had to get stitches, and the wound was a good 8 inches, and there were a few of them. only one part had to get stitches though. then the other leg had some gashes.
i remember limping down the hallway with blood pouring down my legs, crying trying to get to the nurses office.
fun times at my school

Broken ribs, I thought I knew pain until that happened. Worst thing that ever happened to me. I'm walking around on a micro fracture and a partially torn ACL right now. Get surgery this summer.

I drove my elbow backwards as hard as I could one time directly into a doorknob. The knob caught me directly on the nerve cluster in my elbow.

I've never felt anything like that before. My entire arm instantly felt like it was white hot, and I had to go and lay down in my room because it hurt so bad it was clouding my vision. I lost control over my hand for a good week and a half and couldn't make a closed fist. My entire arm was numb for weeks.

I still have some problems with it. It gets aggravated very easily if I tap it on the right spot. I think I caused some irreparable nerve damage.

Pssssh, who gets hurt? :p

I've played sports all my life and never had any serious injury. The worst thing that's ever happened is when I strained my achilles tendon and had to stop playing volleyball for like 2 months for it to heal. Achilles tendon injuries are a bitch.

I hear volleyball injuries are pretty serious.

I don't know if that was sarcastic or not, but if it was, you've clearly never played volleyball, or at least not seriously.

I've dived head first into a concrete wall in an attempt to save a ball before and the repetitive jumping and running in barefeet on the sand without any ankle support can be really demanding on the achilles tendon. If you rupture your achilles tendon, you are royally f**ked for a very long time and I hear it is an extremely painful injury.

Yeah I was being sarcastic. I put some black text in there. I have nothing against volleyball or the players, but I just felt like being edgy. :)

I'm lucky enough not to have been too banged up at all. I remember trying to break my fall with my wrist from a 15 foot jungle gym. adrenaline was high ...don't think i felt a thing, it just didnt "look right"afterward.

Jefferys is awful, i have minor ankle problems (can't run without hearing/feeling clicking and pain in my left ankle/achillies tendon.)
I can imagine how that must have ^^hurt!

Why would you drive your elbow as hard as you could into a doorknob?

Well, being a kid born in 1989, I grew up amongst the leagues of Generation X. My childhood was during a time when Nirvana and Pearl Jam reigned supreme, and Mtv still played music. Nickelodeon was worth watching, and hats still had gigantic adjustable plastic straps. Knee high socks with red or blue rings worn with shorts was not looked down upon, but celebrated.

Thusly, I've been bred to believe that clenching my fist and pumping my elbow down is a 'cool' way to celebrate. I was happy about something, let my Gen X tendencies get the better of me, and pumped my elbow as hard as I could directly backwards as the door was simultaneously swinging into me.

My buddy tried to jump over a metal pipe that was drove into the ground while wearing baggy pants and he didn't clear it and he literally ripped his nutsack open on it. He put his hands down his pants and said his testicals were literally in his hands.

Now he refers to his balls as the V-Sack because of the scars that he has from the accident. If he gets really drunk he'll just whip his nuts out and show everyone in the room even if everybody tells him not to.

There was an episode of Scarred where something like that happened. Some skateboarder tried to grind this rail, but hit a bump, fell and he ending up holding a nut in his hand. Sounds horrid.

Lets see, I got hit the nose with a metal baseball bat at a full swing. Shattered my nose, got a concussion and will have to get surgery within a few years because the bone in my nose grew wrong.

In Football me and a get hit each other so hard that the blood supply to my shoulder ran off and caused my bone to die. So as of right now, I'm missing a bone in my shoulder and have a torn Labrium. Plus I have had inflamatory problems in both of my shoulders causing them to dislocate when applying pressure.

When I played baseball, a few years ago, there was a kid who could throw a fast ball 96 mph and he was pitching from MLB distance, and there wasa girl on my baseball team, and she went up to bat, and he didnt notice, the ball he had was slick, so when he went to throw a fast ball he hit her in the face at 96 mph and broke her nose and face bone/cheek bone, it was horrid, blood was coming out of her eye and nose and her mouth, I think she even got teeth knocked out. ;)
