this is a Greek Spearmen

hp:35
Range:2
attack:20
blocking: 80% front 60% side
move:2
Armor: 8
recovery:1 turn

This unit is a spear man that carries a spear and a shield. that is why he has the same blocking is the same as a knight, but they do not wear much armor, so they have the same armor as a scout.

id have thought hopilite would wear large amounts of armour. id would have also thought they would have greater block than swordsman

nice idea on hitting over a few spaces like it. i think though considering all the factors its a bit weak
also hoplite werent used during the middle ages
you could make it a pikeman to make it suite the timeline

Well historically, the greek HOPLITES, no extra i, wear just their shield, have a sword or spear, and unless you're a spartan, a chest plate. Helmets are typical for leaders.

i wasnt going for middle ages. the reason i didnt give armor was because most didnt have armor back then. there are many reasons why i didnt use a pike man. the best reason i didnt use a pike man is because a pike man is just a knight with little differences. there is no need for another knight type unit. i choose this unit because it is a completely defensive unit. it cant rush and if it does it will be destroyed. you would use it in a defensive turt set. mainly like a corner turt. this unit could protect the side.

if you look at a pikeman sometimes they couldnt rush because they where so heavily armoured and could still attack with 2 range. pikeman have quite alot of possibilties above a knight but if you think its just like a knight than im not saying you should agree to what i say

im pretty sure hoplilte wore helmets, greaves, gaunlets, and a armour plate.
