As we reached the end of last round, good PM's and formats got a little bit relaxed, because it was easier for me to filter through and there were less people. BUT: rules about Good PM's, and Battle Reports, and Challenges will now be strictly enforced again with so many people involved. Round Length
This round begins Tuesday, April 14th and will continue through Monday, April 20th at 11:59 P.M. PST time (GMT-8). It is a day shorter: we have much fewer games.

The extension request deadline is Sunday, April 19th at NOON PDT. Both parties and captains must approve extensions.

Alright, I'm around-ish from 9am-3pm Mon-Friday. Workish stuff, but heck, I can put it off for TAO. At nights, I can get on around 11pm-12am. I'm EST (GMT - 5), so comparing up our times...

Why don't we try tentatively for Thursday 11pm my time, which should be 10pm your time? I'm on duty starting at midnight, so I really can't afford the late stuff then. Please be on time. If you miss it or even just show up a little late, let's push it off until Monday 2:30 pm my time, 1:30 pm your time? We can consider the monday time the official one in case we miss each other on thursday.

Yes, FB is CDT and abhi is EDT, but

CDT is GMT -5
EDT is GMT -4

Regardless abhi is 1 hour ahead of FB whether the GMT correlations are correct or not.

I’ve played about 80% of my PSST games in a public computer. I get disconnected quite often and I rather pay to prevent an inconvenience than jeopardize a win that is important to both my team and myself. You are right, though, me setting up a game with you in a internet cafe has nothing to do with the fact that you haven’t been the most sportsmanlike player/captain with situations regarding d/c’s(like Mith said, this only applies to the previous round).

On another note, you don’t have to take what I say so literally. When I tell you that “I need you to be 100% sure”, I’m off course aware that external factors from your life may prevent you to meet on our arranged time. However you can still commit with a time if you think, and you are almost sure, that you can make it.

Not trying to be insulting but I have noticed people here are very naive about how the internet works. The wireless you use may be completely different than the wireless someone else uses. It may have nothing to do with the wireless at all but the amount of hops and the common path from one country to another to get to these Canadian servers. Even if one person has solid connection to their backbone (how they ultimately get from their ISP to the rest of the internet) the path that their traffic takes to get to any specific server can be impacted by something in between the origination and destination. Because of these things you can not blame anyone who has a history of problems for trying to mitigate anything that may cause trouble.

I think there are some inaccuracies in the screenshot. My knight was not at 28 but 40. His knight was at 30, not 42. It was fry's turn. I didn't try for the frontal against the scout, so my knight was not in recovery and his scout had no negative blocking.

I believe I had slight advantage, but I'm not great at judging these things so I won't argue the point. In any case, it was a pretty fun game and it is unfortunate that we weren't able to finish it.

first off, sounds like too many differences of opinion of the 2 players as to what was happenign at the end. Realist claiming he didnt attempt the frontal is huge, as is the dispute over that knights hp's.

Those claiming brown has advantage are hopefully being comical, especially with what is now unknown in the above mentioned. a sassy close to dying and a knight potentially closed to dying would have to take out scout, and pyro before dying for their to be an advantage. Hopefully some ppl that are a little more skilled at grey then those that have spoken will chime in. scratch that, with the disputes, doesnt really matter

No, Fry can barrier his range upon threatened and then attack + retreat it + heal it. The main difference being Real will spend turns chasing his range while Fry can still do damage. Knights are tanks but they are slow and their movement blockable -- I dare to say Fry wouldn't lose his scout for at least a knight + heavy damage on the other, meaning the worst he can do is draw.

It's fry's game to win, and I've yet to imagine a scenario in which real could gain enough of an advantage to be able to safely advance his chanty endgame to freeze fry's remaining units without necessitating his barrier ward.

Well I was finally able to reply to Stiven's PM. I've been super busy at work, and today we can't play. If we can get an extension for tuesday, I can make any time of Stiv's before 9:00 PM.

As it is I know one of Stiv's time is 5:00 PM CST, which is perfectly fine for me, and a time I can make very easily. So can we get an extension meat? I'm pretty sure Stiv and I can finish this tomorrow.

Lol... How so? Even if you hit the knight down to 28 you still have to use your pyro to finish it off. I wouldn't mind trading my knight for the pyro seeing as the assassin bomb gets much easier to set up not having to worry about the pyro's un-blockable attack.

I'm sorry, I think we're looking at different screenshots. If played positionally correctly, the pyro is not in danger of being killed, except by the assassin.

Regardless, s/s speculation is pointless. The game isn't decided, it's still up in the air.

I'm just saying I wouldn't let the rest of the participants in the tournament wait on a single match, when the players can't even decide on HPs and wait times. If they can't do that, they have to replay from the start anyway, so Real's idea works best in the situation at hand.

Should they decide on wait times and HPs, we're still waiting about a week for a result. I highly doubt the people left want to wait that long for game 4. So, you can either proceed and let these 2 wait (which would bring up the problem I stated where there is no certain number of players per team), advance them both and have them replay (as Realist suggested), or d/q Realist for disconnecting (which I doubt meat will do, but it's possible).

It was a close game the entire way even though I made a mistake with my knight that gave him a shot on my cleric and from there I tried to trap him, but he only gave me 3 of the 4 units I would of gotten had the trap worked. With that, he won the game.

first off, sounds like too many differences of opinion of the 2 players as to what was happenign at the end. Realist claiming he didnt attempt the frontal is huge, as is the dispute over that knights hp's.

Those claiming brown has advantage are hopefully being comical, especially with what is now unknown in the above mentioned. a sassy close to dying and a knight potentially closed to dying would have to take out scout, and pyro before dying for their to be an advantage. Hopefully some ppl that are a little more skilled at grey then those that have spoken will chime in. scratch that, with the disputes, doesnt really matter

I think the mathematics of it works out such that the advantage of using another player in a given round is pretty much canceled out by the risk of losing the player that round (i.e, byes are effectively neutral). The more advantageous a win is, the harder it is to get.

He didn't purposely countered him. Rub might have had set disadvantage but theres no way bax would have known rub was going use an anti since in every battle report rub has mentioned he used a dsm rush in almost every game. Bax went into that game thinking he was gonna be up against another dsm rush or against a LW set. Also its not like rub has never countered anyone before ;).

I think purposely countering or designing a special set to counter another set is lame but this isn't really the case, rub just had bad luck and happened to play a set that had some advantage over his set.

Comments: My DSM rush against his strange anti. It was opposite side, yet somehow I think it worked better that way even though its designed for same side. He got first turn and hit my DSM, and then I burned his scout and dragon. He healed, I moved archer and attacked his. He finished off DSM with mud, then I finished off his with mine. Then we moved on to kill each other's mud.

Only difference was that I was positioning my units very nicely while he went defensive, and at one point I had my archers situated nicely to kill his cleric. Which I did, into the middle of the game, and after that he really didn't have much of a chance since I was up an attacking unit and 2 of his knights were damaged.

Even after he got my last range unit, i was in position to get his frost, so it wasn't a factor late game. And afterwards I just had to pick off a unit and heal when I needed too.

Well after I had to reschedule the first time I gave him an almost totally open scehdule for the rets of the week even offering to get on anywhere from 6pm and stay up anywhere up to as late as 6 am my time for him on Thursday and not only did he not take up on the offers to play a game he didn't send me any times and he didn't even reply. Luzbel basically is ridiculously inept at arranging tourney games and very annoying to try and make headway with. Once I had to last minute cancel a time because I was busy he basically felt satisfied he had it in the bag and didn't send me anything other then a play now at midnight on a sunday.

The original time being missed was my fault. The fact we couldn't get a game done in the extension? Well I had plenty of time open and he didn't even botehr sending me a single time that was Luzbel's fault. But like I said I can't play FPS Free anyway so just give him the win.

It's not very amazingly out of order but thsi happens to Luzbel ALL. THE. TIME. There is almost always him making ridiculously bad attempts to arrange a game and then if it doesn't get played he starts drama and syas they were "dodging" him or whatever. Even when it does get played he often starts drama if he loses. I remember seeing him accusing players of using illegal sets in certain tourneys and stuf He's just an idiot and i have no desireto deal with him so I'm saving meat the trouble of having to make a decision..

After the extension, the arrangements were made solely through VMs (which he posted). You gave him free times, he asked what time zone, you told him, he asked if around midnight his time zone would be okay...no response.

I told Luzbel in this thread about the free all day on thursday thing but he didn't reply. I also said give me any times you ahve for next week preferably evening and I can probably be there and he didn't reply. I didn't say anything about thsi weekend because honestly I thought the decision would have been made by then. Like I said I'm nto saying I deserved the win or anything just saying Luzbel didn't make any attempts to play the game after the first time I had to cancel and he kenw he would probably make it through if meat was making a dq decision. That's all. The guy is annoying to be matched up with because he almost never sends proper PM's and rarely responds to your nessages. He deserves the win a little mroe then I do in this situation because I had to cancel but his attempts to arrange games are still poor.
