View Full Version : Flame Golem

Name: Flame Golem
HP: 60
Armor: 0
Blocking: 0
Movement: 3
Recovery: 4
Power: 18
Range: 3
Flame Golems (as expected) expels fire. When it targets a unit, the four sides around the unit become flames. The flames effect the enemy's units as well as your own if they pass through the fire. The flames stay until either; (1) A unit passes through the fire, in which case it takes 18 off (2) After 4 turns, the flames disperse.
Your own units can attack through the fire, as long as the attacking unit doesn't have a range of 1. For example, a scout, witch, pyromancer, dragon, beast rider, etc may attack through the flames.
What do you's think? Bad or very bad? lol

I think its overpowered. shouldnt do more than 20 damage id think. 4 turns with fire sitting there? i dunno dude. how could you tell whos fire is whos? i like where ur going with this, but id rethink it.

Change the fire to the color that the person is like in settings?that could work and still if ur same color u will see ur color but u will see there pink.

See, I wanted it to do a bit extra, hence 22 because it can be avoided if you think about it. DarkStar's idea is good about the colour. As with all my ideas, they are drafts, I like people to add their ideas to them :)

idk kinda seems like a wisp unless i am reading it wrong, also it should affect all units, since all attacking units can attack ur own units as well as ur oppenents, this shouldnt be any diffrent
Niamh

Affect own units as well? That soudns slightly like the Furgon's enraged move. But.. It seems quite hard to think of something that doesn't already seem like a unit already there.

"The flames only effect the enemy's units if they pass through the fire." this should affect any unit that passes through, because how is fire supposed to determine whos side a unit is on
so it only damages if you pass through?

22 is a lot of power. I do like the tactical advantages the attack gives, though. It's like a four-turn paralysis and forces people to think if they really need to take the risk to get out of the ring of fire.
*leaves thread to listen to Johnny Cash*

(Directed to burnout) It's magical. The game isn't about how logical the units attacking is. Its about how you use logical decisions.
(Directed to Hellblazer) Thanks, that's what I thought. Im a big fan of paralyzing, and the fire type attacks, hence this unit idea.

Hellblazer@ lol the Johnny Cash
I say bring up the range by one and drop the power down to like 15 or 18 cause then it has the potential to hurt you if you mov but it is not always going to kill the other unit

umm this is a logic game
Niamh
05-11-2009, 03:03 PM
Okay, Death_Corp, Ive edited it :)
It is about logic but its more about the decisions you make and sometimes the risks. One bad move can cost you the game.

then the unit should be able to damage both sides, that way if the user is unlogical enough to walk through his own fire he has to pay for it

Um... it does. By "attack through the fire" he meant ranged attacks can be shot out of the middle of the fire.

My apologies then maam, and if thats you in the siggy I apologize for realzies.

Thats true about this whole game. One or two mistakes and ur done.
Im still not crazy about the 4 turn fire thing. 2 or possibly 3 would be feasible. It has a 3 turn wait already and it doesnt focus to do it. The power is better @ 18 I think. Maybe Ill work up a Water Golem to put out the Flame Golem's flames? Lol. Jk.
I also think that to make it a fair unit then the fire should hurt both sides players.

got an idea how the unit will look?
Niamh
05-13-2009, 01:47 PM
Lmao.
Well, I don't really know.. I was thinking of a sort of, Frost Golem / Golem Ambusher stance but unsure. Would like it to have a completely different stance and all. As for colour, I was thinking along the lines of a Deep Red / Orange. As Frost Golem is white (ice type feel to it) Stone Golem is grey, hence stone. Mud golem brown hence mud. And Golem Ambusher is jusy purple for the sake of it lmao. I would like to see it at least two-toned.
This is like Pimp My Unit lmao!
Any suggestions on appearance?

i was only asking because when you are creating a unit, you are not only creating stats and history, you have to know wat it will look like

January 5th 2010 at 6.13pm GMT time. It shall appear from nowhere, on every gold's unit list. Watch for it.

Lol. It's a random date Burny. But Christmas would make more sense for the weird plant / wall thing unit xD

i could be misreading but does that unit have unlimited range ?
any unit can be targeted from any distance?

Sorry my mistake. Was late when i type what i did before.
Ok Problem with this would be, When a unit moves it moves in a random direction to get to its destination.
Second it has a 4 wait time with 3 range. In my opinion any unit that needs to wait 4 turns is a sitting target.
But i do like this unit.
i would rather use a mud golem.
Niamh
05-31-2009, 04:21 PM
I think most people rather use Mud's but a 4 wait time would make you think more of using it. How you'd use it, How to prevent it getting hit, etc.
Tactics people, Tactics :)
