Tactics Arena iPhone App
There should be a TAO App for iPhone and iPod Touch. This would allow players to battle on the move. It would have to be simpler but if you think about it its the perfect touch screen game. You just click on squares to move and attack.

That'd be crazy intense. It's never gonna happen, but I would definetly do that on my iTouch.

Unless you can make one on your own, ti will never happen.
TAO does not have a developer anymore

Shame, they could actually make some extra money off of something like this.
And Mis-clicks would happen 10x more frequently.

When I got my PSP I tried playing TAO =/. Youre not alone lol.
Most I got was the digis logo and that screaming sound from when you open the game.

I'm too poor for an iTouch.
But it sounds like a great way to make money, and to make the game popular. The typing would be annoying though.

You can zoom in and out when your in Safari, so it wouldn't be too bad at all. Same with gameplay. You can watch your opponent's move some what zoomed far out, then when you're ready to make your move, you zoom in onto the piece so it's a lot less likely to misclick, then go from there.

The coding part really is not hard.... If you had AI. But this game is for the most part a MMORPG (Its just missing the massive part now-a-days) I do not think it can be done on an Itouch/Iphone, everything is standalone on there, nothing server based.

Actually, I disagree on the "nothing server based" part. I've done some research and read this bit:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone#Internet_connectivity
IPhone apps do access the internet - like videos and google maps. But IPhone does not have flash support (sorry TAO) nor even java support. So while it might still be technically possible to have a TAO app, I think there are so many obstacles in the way, that it would never happen.

That's right. I knew there was something in the back of my head saying wait a minute...
In that case then, couldn't it be scripted to just be a game, like Tactics Core? Just TAO as we know it, except against a computer opponent with different difficulty settings instead of a live player connected somewhere else.

well, we are getting somehwere at last. So my idea has altered thanks to all this input
how about a Tactics game on ipod touch/ipphone where you can play against the computer so as to practice your skills for the real stuff when you get back home???
rookie, intermediate, expert, MASTER, (difficulty levels)

I thought that YouTube was flash player? If iPhones don't support Flash, then how can we watch YouTube from them?
Please explain.

It is understandable that since youtube uses flash, and iphone supports youtube, that iphone supports flash. But that just isn't the case. Here's some wiki quotes:
"The iPhone supports neither Flash nor Java."
"Apple also developed a separate application to view YouTube videos on the iPhone, which streams videos after encoding them using the H.264 codec."
Check out the references for that first quote if you don't believe wikipedia. So in essence, the iphone is not using flash to play the video's. Rather, it uses some other technology that can play H.264 videos. But it has to convert the video data it gets from youtube to H.264 before it can play it. I wouldn't know the technical details. I'm just a humble windows and linux programmer.

So.. if they can create one of those for YouTube, there's STILL a possibility that they can create one for TAO.
But.. for us.. impossible.

Isnt it possible to play TAO on iphone all they need to do is release a flash player app that would allow you to load it.
