Ghostbusters 360
I wasn't sure whether to post my review of this in the Xbox thread or movie thread, so I made a happy (long needed) medium. The game is basically the third movie. It's cheesy, funny, and very Ghostbustersy.
First of all the game looks fantastic. Tons of destruction, a city in being destroyed, lots of slime, ghost worlds, and most importantly, the giant Stay Puft. The fighting is tricky at first, but strangely satisfying as you progress. I love slamming the ghosts into the trap. There's even a variety of weapons and goo that your character is "testing" out. The acting and voice-overs are hilarious and the multiplayer is weirdly addictive.
It's the first movie game made about a movie I love that hasn't been a total letdown. I definitely recommend picking it up if you're a GB fan.

The multiplayer online was laggy, and the career can be kind of boring, but it never gets old smashing someone elses face in using your favorite UFC stars.

I finally played UFC. It's alright. The next installment in the series will be a huge step in the right direction I think though. It's still a little awkward. The whole sub defense system sucks too, but in all fairness it could be because I didn't really know what I was doing when I played.

The only controls I find akward are when you knock a guy down, but not out, there should be a quicker way to jump on him for the ground pound.
I can only get my guy to stumble over there and a lot of times the other guy is up by then.

Dude how the hell do you get a part time job at gamestop? I've applied to like 4 relatively local ones and every one instantly said they weren't looking for help.
The last gameboy game I played was Dragon Warrior Monsters 2:Cody's Adventure
An old school RPG game somewhat similar to the Pokemon games. Absolute pwnage. Most people have never heard/played it, but if you don't care about shitty graphics and are into old games like that, definitely check it out. I give it a 10/10.

I walked in with a tie and professional outfit on, handed them my resume (printed on semi-transparent paper), told them I'm applying to be assistant manager or manager and they hooked me up with an interview. I then interviewed with them 4 times to be hired on as a part timer (exactly what I wanted).

Pictobits DS
This is one of the best games I've played on the DS. It's very Tetris/falling-blocks-y. It's got a great soundtrack with themes from Mario, Excitebike, Zelda and a bunch more. It has quite a bit of unlockable levels and music. The only downside to this game is that it ends. It's very challenging, but when you beat it, you can only replay it for so long. I'm already anticipating a sequel.

Seriously, this game is niiice. You guys remember playing Spiderman 2? With the free roam, and the side misisons and such? Well this game is modeled just like that, except the side missions aren't boring. Free roam is fun as hell to play, especially as the virus spreads, and there is a LOT of abilities to unlock. Every ability had me saying "cool" (Ok well not really, but I said it in my head). If you like games that are super fun to play as you go around smashing things up, I would definitely give this game a shot.
The graphics were subpar though, which is why I didn't give it a 9.5/10.

Dragon Quest IV DS
Fantastic little game so far. It's alot of text and starts slow like any Square Enix game. It plays a little like FF mixed with Pokemon, but that's not why I like it.
I love the horribly translated English. There are so many sentences in there that just have me laughing. For example, instead of telling my character to hide in a box, the old guy says something like, "We shortly have the arriving of the sedan."
I'm giving this game a 6 so far. I'll bump the rating up if it gets better.

Its a downloadable game. Im not sure the acronym for it... But the game style is similar to WoW, i think. I dont play WoW so i cant really confirm that though, but thats what ive been told. Its completely free and pretty fun. There are four character types, which then split into 2 different, more specific classes. You play using the keyboard and hotkeys and you simply run through the missions.
If anybody decides to try this game out, and likes it, let me know because the game can get tedious doing things by yourself, but playing with a friend can be much more fun and since im a much higher level, i can help you guys get through some of the boring beginning stuff pretty quickly.

Phantasy Star Portable PSP
I'm only about ten hours into the game, but so far it's a solid game. The story is... well... a video game story line (not the best), but the gameplay is quite fun. It's very similar to FF Crisis Core for the PSP in that you have tons of items, weapons, etc and you run around hack n slashing/ shooting up/ or magicing bad guys. There are tons of optional side missions to level you up quite easily.
The controls are slightly wonky. For example, if you are a ranger, you have to hit Select to switch between first and third person (not necessary very often, but one boss fight is particularly irritating.). In first person, you cannot move. :/
The graphics are pretty good and cut scenes are just recycled scenes of a jet taking off. (so far) The voice acting is decent and almost everything said by characters is accompanied by a voice-over.

http://www.split-screen.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/killzone-2.jpg
Game is pretty fun, but doesn't bring anything new to the FPS genre. Still not finished with the campaign, but have put a good amount of time into it. It is pretty fun, but I really only play FPS's for multiplayer.
The online comes with 8 maps and 4 maps available for purchase. What I really like about this game is it feels like you are actually shooting guns with realistic recoil and feel. With sniping, you have to hold your controller still in order to keep your sights from moving all over the place. It has 5 game modes, but the best part is you can mix and combine all the game modes into one game, where it seamlessly switches between say "Body Count"(Team Deathmatch) to "Assassination to "Search and Destroy" all in one match. It also has a great clan system, which I feel games like COD4 was really lacking. Clans compete by betting "valor" in clan matches.
Overall, The game is a must-have for FPS loving PS3 owners. While this isn't a game that will make you a fan of FPS's, but if you already are it will intensify it with great graphics, great online multiplayer, and alot of bloodshed.

Yikes... when you have to think about how many hours you put into a game is when I define a job. Not saying you can't spend endless hours on a game, I'm saying games are meant to be fun not work. When you start realising your "farming" and not just playing a game is the line. The main thing I noticed in that game is it looks like it took a lot of work to kill each critter. And by kill I mean multiple button pushing in rediculously repetitive patterns.

Not really much in terms of "fun," however, it's a fairly good refresher so far if a bit awkward and slightly tedious. You start off taking a quiz to determine your level and proceed from there unlocking new words and phrases. It's repetition is good in some cases, but can take its toll on your patience. (Well at least mine.)
You can also record yourself and see how close you are to pronouncing words correctly. It's got a quick phrase translater and dictionary included as well as a sketch pad for when you need to order a peanut butter and watermelon pizza and don't know how to say it or saving phone numbers etc.
7/10 for usefulness
2/10 as a game.

Yeah, I'm not sure what it is about those games that make them so god damn addicting. Which is your favorite class? And do they have any new species or anything? I remember my favorite character was a FoMar.
They have fighter (hunter), shooter, and magic classes. There are also elite versions of those classes and hybrid classes. You can play as an elfish race, beastmanish race, human, or cyborg. You can replay missions so you can level up all the classes to full in theory. I maxed out the Gunmaster class (elite shooter) and am now doing the fighter. Shooting can be a bit troublesome because on the hard difficulties you run out of ammo (but it's easy to replenish. I'm just a loot whore). Melee is kind of fun so far. Lots of weapons and cool attacks. I played it on a 40 inch HDTV and it looks great on there.
My favorite race is the male robots because you can make them look like voltron or a gundam.

Dungeon crawl - 9.4/10
I really don't know why I even have other games installed on my computer. I suck at reviewing things so I'll just quote some other people.
What is a RogueLike
So, what is Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup? It's from the genre known as roguelikes. In short, these games are more challenging than your average game, with a focus on permanent death, randomly generated content, and item identification. Permanent death may sound harsh, but it is ultimately more rewarding, as you're playing an actual game, and not a sandbox. It will try to kill you, and every victory becomes more meaningful. Certainly, many people like to steamroll the computer opposition without a thought, but roguelikes harken back to actual games, where fun is had from trying your best to defeat an opponent who was trying to defeat you. That risk of failure is part of the appeal of roguelikes. Because of randomly generated content and items being unknown when you first find them, every game is different. Resources tend to be limited, forcing you to use them wisely. They're also turn-based, giving you time to contemplate your actions.
What is Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup
Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is the successor to Linley Henzell's Dungeon Crawl. After a while, the original developers couldn't keep working on it, and it became an open source project, aka Stone Soup. It comes in both a tiles and ascii version. There are various other branches, but DCSS seems to be the most vibrant branch. DCSS is what it is in large part due to its design philosophy. Here's a short snippit of what makes DCSS different from other roguelikes.
Major design goals:
* challenging and random gameplay, with skill making a real difference
* meaningful decisions (no no-brainers)
* avoidance of grinding (no scumming)
* gameplay supporting painless interface and newbie support
Minor design goals:
* clarity (playability without need for spoilers)
* internal consistency
* replayability (using branches, species, playing styles and gods)
* proper use of out of depth monsters
It's quite challenging game. I've been playing it on and off for a long time and never won yet (was very close number of times). It's really interesting what a huge difference perma-death makes, because believe me, losing your guy after playing him for a month sucks. Each game is unique because of the randomly generated content, so it doesn't get old.
If you haven't played a rogue-like game yet and are wondering what they're about I'd recommend this one.

A very short, not very hard, but very good looking and entertaining game. I beat it having never played any of the series before on Normal in less than 5 hours.
