I cannot believe what I am reading in this thread.

In reply to everyone saying anything about how butcher ed or thunder had to either suck up or "get in good" with a mod to be a mod.

First off even if they got either nominated or brought up by meat they could have easily been shot down for concideration by the other mods. They were chosen by the majority, not just modded by meat himself.

Anybody else have thoughts on better picks? Id love to hear them.

In regards to activity in game. I doesn't matter up to this point on there activity on the game, if they get modded they know there job and they will do it well. Its not and shouldn't be based on activity, but if the mods feel the certain person can do the job well.

About getting in good with meat.

Do any of you know the easiest way to get a job? Through your friends or connections. That's how I have my current job and how countless others get good jobs. I can asure you nor I or anyone else became friends with meat because we wanted mod, he was wicked cool to play with. That's why he's my friend. I cannot speak for the others but I assure you its close to my feelings.

To put it to rest without revealing too much information, Meat only brought up one of the three final candidates. They were all bashed around, talked up, town back down, and maybe made our sex slaves a couple times here and there, but ultimately at the end of the process the vast majority of the mod squad agreed that those were the best moderators we could think of at this time.

I am confident they will prove you guys wrong on the activity front (however ED's on vacation for the next 4-5 days... /facepalm).

I've known meat.eater for almost 5 years. He's been a mod for over 3 years. Not sure how me playign xbox with him (and like 15 other TAO players) fits in there..

I brought up 1/3 mods selected.

To put it to rest without revealing too much information, Meat only brought up one of the three final candidates. They were all bashed around, talked up, town back down, and maybe made our sex slaves a couple times here and there, but ultimately at the end of the process the vast majority of the mod squad agreed that those were the best moderators we could think of at this time.

What I am saying though is through all the Halo you guys have played together you guys have become better friends. Hence why I said becoming friends with a mod = modship. Not as much for Thunder, but I believe for you and ED (more you) were mentioned entirely because of the Meat factor..

So over the last 3.5-4 years, I've gotten to know his personality, his general routine, maturity, and honesty. In a perfect world, knowing him this well would be discounted 100%; however because I know him this well and can't say there's any other people on TAO currently I'd feel as confident in as a mod can't be.

They didn't get to know us because they wanted to be mods, alot of the people in this game I talk to on a daily basis outside of the game aswell as in-game, I've known since before I was a mod.
