I don't know....BrutalRage's system did a lot for the community and he is able to be the mediator in discussions which are proven in most of his threads....which he expressly displays his EXACT line of thought in well-thought out explanation. But your right, just because he made the system for the enhancement of the TAO-experience, does not merit him to become a moderator. I actually personally think he would make a good moderator - his personality certianly fits the classic description of "Mod"

Aside from that Lemon, Bottle, and even Nomadic Methods would make great choices for moderators to. Syphon would also be very well for the job...perhaps the best out of all of them, but he's gone now.

really, it pretty much does come down to this statement. Always has, and always will. We see it time and again, every day. In many cases, the very DAY we became moderators people started to shout "omg yer such a *insert random insult/demeaning comment here* now, with all your power".

One does not instantly alter personalities because someone hoisted us into a moderating position in an online game with no relevance whatsoever to real life. That said, age also plays a large factor in this.

Some parents do a damn good job, for example. Likewise, some policital/religious leaders do the same. Not all cops are bad cops.

But, when it comes to authority, teens and kids tend to try and skirt the line and see what exactly they can get away with. If said authority figure punishes them, they are a bad authority. If they allow them to run rampant like idiots, then they are a good authority figure. Lord knows that's how I viewed it in my teenaged years. Every authority existed solely to be challenged or ignored. As we mature , that tends to change (especially one we are made into an authority either as a parent, teacher, or otherwise).
