I don't quite understand why a software maker would allow the use of their content like this though. I know if I was getting $700 a pop for a software package per user and then my marketshare went to the toilet I would certainly be concerned.

well in this economy who would want to spend 700 dollars on a program they cant test out to see if they like it. basically it is a free way to market your stuff, also they are prolly getting money from the company to use it

Usually big expense programs like these you can download a trial version.....actually use it for free to see if you want to spend the money to use it, and that is a free way to market it.....so the question still stands....If I were a company that was getting $700 a pop why would I allow the use of that software in an open source like the program in the video?

There is no advantage to them....only disadvantages as the program in the video clearly showed it's full capacity from the open source as well as faster loading time from what I could tell.

Lawyers will add their terms and conditions to the software packages and kill this dead...just watch.
