Either you are ignorant in the sport of bodybuilding or you are just unaware of how amazing he was in his prime. Or both. Either way, don't call it ridiculous simply because you are unaware.
I also noticed you didn't put Hitler in your list. I hope you realize putting him in your list doesn't mean you agree with what he stood for, it just shows you have the ability to execute logical reasoning.

How is killing people influential?
He rose to power in an environment where anyone or their mom could have, and then used it in the most heavy handed and obtuse way possible.
The only thing he accomplished in the long run is uniting the rest of the world against him.
EDIT: Which is not significant. At all.
I could do that now by claiming that the Holocaust never happened. OH WOW GUYS I CAN BE INFLUENTIAL TOO.

I do not consider bodybuilding a sport. It is a competition at best. Either way Mariusz would kick his @$$ 6 ways to Sunday.
Hitler would probably be in my top 20-30. We have already discussed Hitler I believe. Having read more about him recently though has made me question whether or not it was just sheer luck he ended up in the position he was in. He really wasn't as smart as I thought.

Which is why they have pro bodybuilding competitions, and natural pro bodybuilding competitions. It's all within the same sport.
When something amazing is acheived, it's still amazing, even with the help of steroids. Uninformed people such as yourself who know nothing about steroids shouldn't be allowed to speak on the subject until after they have gained knowledge on what is being argued.
With that said, let me leave you with another picture of an amazing body from a person who used steroids. It isn't even possible to attain a body like this without the use of steroids.

Bodybuilding is impressive to some, yet absurd to others. I don't see it as a sport, but someone like you may and thats ok.
Steroids used in competitions is unforgivable in my standpoint. Any competition even if its legal. Pro sports are for athletes to use and display there unique talents to win. Any kind of taint would therefore unbalance the competition.
We are all built generally different. The ones with an outstanding athletic ability and workout will succeed. Those who do not possess extreme athletic ability by genetics will not make it into most pro sports. Its a combination of hardwork, and natural born talent.
Using steroids are for those looking to gain an unfair advantage (or to catch up to those who are ahead of them by hard work or genetics).

Every human has genetic limits. The limits are there to stop you from naturally getting bigger. When that happens, I see nothing wrong with getting on 'roids. It pushes you farther than where you naturally could not go. With that said, someone who has not met there genetic limit and went on 'roids would not look as good as someone who hit their limit, and pushed forward. That is the point I'm making, and apparently that is also what sponsored professional bodybuilding competitions believe also, which makes the use of steroids legal.
Keep in mind I'm using this argument for bodybuilding and bodybuilding alone, no other sport.
Why are we posting pictures of almost naked men in this thread? Is it just to entertain Kyir? Or is there a reason I'm not aware of?
Kyir is really gay? I was unaware. And no, I was posting them to show the men's bodies and how amazing they look. Any man secure with his sexuality should be able look at another man's body and not feel uncomfortable. If you are looking at the body in a sexual way, then that's your business.

Stop being dumb... Of course bodybuilding is a sport!
Most of you couldn't stay determined enough to lift weights for even a month. Yet, these men (and disgusting women...) have been doing it for 15+ YEARS...
Its all about being symmetrical and evenly proportioned. Which is EXTREMELY hard to do. Everyone one of us is NOT symmetrical or evenly proportioned to our size and wieght.
They spend years eating healthy food with strict diets that taste like crap to get the body that they have....
They work there asses off in the gym almost everyday of the week.
Steriods or not... that is amazing...
I challenge anyone of you... Go take steriods if you want... It will still take a ridiculously long time to get that buff.
Steroids dont make an athlete into an athlete...
Arnold is definetly and influence and inspiration to MILLIONS of people around the world for his amazing body... and back in his days it was perfectly fine to use steriods.
Kyir is really gay? I was unaware.
I certainly claim I am enough that it could be true.

07-11-2009, 02:22 AM
lol. its 3 am here. If I was doing the activity you are suggesting WHILE posting, I'd say we have some larger issues at stake here than orientation. Let's also realise that being gay is not defined by actually doing a physical act between two people of the same sex. After all, many of you out there are virgins, you have not gone all the way with a woman. This does not mean you are not straight. Never in this forum have I disclosed what I've done physically with other guys, or if anything at all. What I've stated is simply my attraction.
As far as your goals in life, I don't really think they have anything to do with sexual orientation. I know plenty of personal trainers who are in fact gay. Just as I know doctors, lawyers, theater actors, and mechanics who are gay.
Just know that about 1 in 20 people you know are gay whether they admit it to you or not. Do yourself a favor some time- walk down the street some day and count off people. Is every 20th person wearing a pink blouse with leather chaps? My guess is no. The reality is that most gay people are just like normal people, with the same normal jobs, the same normal goals in life.
Of course there is a very vocal minority, but that does not represent the population as a whole. People see the gay pride parades in san fransisco and think that's what gay people are about. That would be like me seeing the KKK march and assume every white person in the south is like that.
Well anyway, I gotta get to bed. Have to go to my GIRLFRIENDS tomorrow morning. (feel free to imagine that encounter all you want mafia, sweet dreams)

*mindless blabbering*
I don't know what you're attempting to get at, I presume you're just drunk. I brought up that I was thinking about becoming a personal trainer to show that I have not lost my interest in exercising and lifting weights, and I can tell what an amazing body looks like on a man. I'm guessing you think that makes me gay for some reason, and I'm not too sure why. I'm not getting a boner when I see a man's chest; when I see a man with a nice looking chest I wonder in my mind how long it will take for me to get to that point. It's much different from looking at a woman. When looking at a woman I'm imagining my manhood in between their breasts, between their buttcheeks, etc, not imagining how long it will take me to get those killer biceps.
Or, you know, I could be making all this up just to cover up my homosexuality. Cuz I lovez teh cawk.
You're absolutely right.

Each of these people could concievably be parts of different groups of 20, rendering predictions inaccurate.

May I add, fail. That's kind of the way things work. The stronger country usually takes what they want. I don't condone what happened to the Natives, but it's not like they owned the entire country. We didn't steal the entire continent from tribes of Indians who (I have no idea what the actual statistic is) probably lived on less than 1/3 of it. We did buy land from them straight; money and trading I mean. I wouldn't expect you to know the whole story. S'all good.

We are not discussing the top 10 most positively influential people, but those that had the greatest effect on our world (positive OR negative). Honestly, as much as i dislike him, I am surprised not everyone has Michael Phelps on the 10 greatest athletes of all time. He won 8 gold medals in a variety of strokes, a feat never accomplished before, and it will never happen again either. Something like 7 world records at the olympics too, i believe. I'd even consider Mark Spitz for the top 10 list because of his 7 gold medals back in the day.

I'm not saying he didn't do something, being elected president is hard. Only 44 people have ever done it after all. However, his accomplishments pale in comparison to anyone on my list, especially when you realize 44 other people didn't do what people on my list did.

Bah..I'm not a huge fan of Columbus for many reasons and see no reason why the man deserves his own day. I also feel it is waaay to early to be putting Obama on any top 10 lists.
It's difficult to make a list of ten but i'll throw up some important figures and edit as needed..in no particular order:
Moses..This spot could also be filled by Jesus, Muhammad, or Buddha even. Seeing as I only have ten spots, they can all share this one.
George Washington- As much as i'd love to put Lincoln here, my understanding is that we may not have even had a presidential system was it not for this man. Jefferson, JFK, and Reagan make the runner up list.
Julius Caesar- "Veni, vidi, vici" Rome attributed so much culture to the world that it's hard to not put on the man who helped spread it. My runner up for his spot was Augustus Caesar..Rome's first emperor.
Adolf Hitler- Anyone who can convince quite a few nations to attempt genocide makes my influential list.
Socrates- Socrates was the teacher of the great Plato who then taught Aristotle. Between them they layed the foundations for natural philosophy, western philosophy, and science in general. He also has one of my favorite quotes attributed to him, "I know that I don't know." It's ironic that such a brilliant man knew that, in the grand schemes of things, we don't know nearly as much as we claim we do while in everyday life we see morons claiming to have the answer to it all.
Edit: After doing some research on the subject I realise my list is ignorant to much of the world and history. See the following post.

Finally someone who isn't just naming random historical figures that influence their life for no reason at all.
<3 you Faulty
Lol how the hell did Hitler influence my life? I don't even like the guy...Chicago is a very segregated city, with each race generally staying in its own area. We have a place called JewTown, where the jews sell stuff, including food. If Hitler succeeded I would have never tasted a JewTown polish, and I would be enraged.
Charlemagne had the first public university
Which is just soooo impressive and significant.

Those jews also wouldn't have fled from their homes and come to the US for you to taste their food if not for Hitler. :p

Take 'er easy. I wasn't talking about anyone in particular, just saying that there are quite a few forumers naming people without reason. I for one think that threads like this should at least have some information about the people who are being listed..if not what is the point of this thread? One post and then leave? There is no discussion...

I think any person, with the slightest amount of common sense, will say that Obama is an influential and inspirational person. Especially in the black culture. Without getting into a political debate on whether or not you agree with his policies, can you honestly say you don't see why he is considered influential?
Sure Obama is influential and inspirtational, but not top 10 inspiration, maybe not even top 100. Despite how much I love Obama and don't really know what goes on behind doors, the only reason he is being brought up is because people are shallow and only think "influential" means in today's standards not ALL TIME INFLUENTIAL.
I don't think it's fair to judge influential by the # of people that were affected by either. Influential should be judged from the impact that person had in retrospect to humankind. Which is not alalogous to what they have actually accomplished or to say they did good. And yes Hitler is definately going to make that top 10 list despite someone like Ghengis Khan doesn't. And sadly Hitler is probablly going to be more influential then a mother Teresa.
I think people also forgot about fictional people too. One who is also in the top 10, satan. Also, Mom & Dad are probablly sitting in the top 10. It's still very difficult to judge the #6-10 spots though. That would be too long a debate and a silly one judging from other's responses.

Yeah, I never said I thought he was top ten, I just said there is no denying him being an influential person.

Criteria, please. If it's number of people influenced, I'd put confucius, lao tze, and some of the ancient greeks/romans on the first list. If you're looking for influencing modern american thought, then it looks about right.

I'd be willing to bet that you're out of shape. Possibly obese, because I don't understand how any man wouldn't know how to make himself look better. When I look at a bodybuilder's body, I'm not thinking "fapfapfap", I'm thinking how long it will take me to get to that point. Does this point need to be stressed any more, or will you continue trolling?
