View Full Version : Assassin Upgrade
ExpectDeath and I were fooling around on Armageddon when the server dropped an assassin in the midst of our game. Happily, I collected my winnings and went on to play a second game with my newly attained drop.
The realization kicked in; the assassin is a worse unit when there is a multitude of them! The assassin's kamikaze special only works if there is one unit on the board! And this was a "rare" drop on legends?
And then I thought- this unit could be better and this problem could be solved if just this simple rule was abstained. A whole new strategy could be worked around this one simple unit- grey and gold games would be affected (for the better), but not totally altered.
Multiple assassin's with the ability to bomb- it wouldn't be overpowered in my mind.
This could definitely make the game more fun!
yeah, i don't get that rule either.
Witch + Pyro + 3 assassins = 3 bombs and unless your opponent has a mage they can't kill all 3 before you bomb them, which is overpowered.

Nah, I agree. A bombing isn't all that terrible. As long as you make sure they can only bomb one unit, then it's just a trade. And if you have more than one preped bomb at one time, you run the risk of trading 2 assassins for one unit. I'm not scared of facing 3 bombs.

I remember like 4-5 years ago I had this ingenious idea to use 3 sassys and bomb my opponent. So I set it up perfectly.... "hahahaha this guy has no idea whats gonna hit him." /doh!

But then you lose 3 units, which sucks unless you get three of your opponent's in return.

Ever think that the assassin has more potention than just bombing? Yeah, it's sure as hell used for that.... a lot... but the assassin is extremly good at flanking. Pressure one side and send in the assassin on the other, or keep it to the edge of the TAO board and move it in for a chanty or cleric hit, or a witch, etc. The assassin has a variety of uses, just like every other unit. If you rush with an assassin on each side of the board, it works very well.

dude but really, the assassin isnt necessarily that useful. it became way better when the opponent was afraid to put it at bomb damage. but really, 2 assassins? no.

It's perfectly fine and logical as it is. Just think about it.
Assassin sucks. If you use more than one, then they suck more.

Then let us use muddy pound whenever we have more muddies.
I'd love to have 3 muddys and be able to pound the boob out of my opponents.
Would own in a rush

so basically use 8 sassies, 2 scouts, set up 8 bombs after agreeing to a no drag no mud game, and pwn the hell out of ur opponent ?

oh, and maybe your opponent shouldn't have any mages or scouts either. Then maybe it might get tricky for them to face 8 potential bombs. Think it through, man. 8 assassins and 2 scouts is a bad idea even with multi-bomb.
