You need to ask yourself what is it that is wrong with your PC that you feel that it needs a boost? Was your computer once fast and is now sluggish?
I will assume that you are using XP... I personally find that Vista although more resource hungry doesn't slow down like xp after a while or two.
You can download all kinds of tuning software for you pc but most come with viruses and spyware. Go to a reputable website like Download.com and have a look there.But here are some of My recomendations.

Now I know that you are using Norton... but I don't particually like norton antivirus it is resource hungry and not as good as many of the free alternatives such as AVG antivirus. Another thing to do is to clear out all the junk that you don't need such as programs and trials which you installed and don't need no longer. Press start and then click on the control pannel. Look you add and remove programms. Click and that and use it to remove any programs that you see on there that you do not use and can' t see yourself using anymore
