Hey everyone, butters here! (Not really)!
This is your basic guide through Tactics Arena Online.
This is not a strategy guide. This is a tip guide. Things that you can do that can improove your preformance. I will not be telling you how to move any of your units; how to use them; or anything. Like I said, this is not a strategy guide. Also, this guide is going to be very long, but if you read it all, then you should be improving your skill. Now; to be honest with you, I do not play Tactics Arena Online that much. I like to stay on the Forum and read what people have to say. But when I do play, I usually win; gold or not. Although I rarely beat golds on gray accounts; I do occasionally. I can usually beat golds on my gold account, too.
Now, enough jibber jabber, and lets get to the point. First off; I always always always always ALWAYS play competitive music in the background. It helps me concentrate. It gets me pumped up. You may not believe me, but you have to try. (Example "pump up song" - Sandstorm by Darude.) If you run out of ideas, search "Songs that get you pumped up!" on YouTube, you should get a list of results.
Now that you have some music in the background to help you concentrate; YOU must concentrate. This game is very similar to chess; you must concentrate. Before you make that move ALWAYS think "What will happen, how will it help me, will I die moving there, what are the concenquences, why should I move there." It's a lot to think for every move; but if you think it over you will know it's the right move. DO NOT & I repeat DO NOT make a move without thinking first. Take at least 10 seconds thinking about it, EVEN IF YOUR THINKING ABOUT HEALING.
For example, if you were about to heal, think "Will I save my unit by healing, or will I be wasting a turn. How much units am I healing? Do I want to save the heal just incase I need it next turn?" Think ALL of those. Once you come to your best desition; then you score.
Another thing: Get ALL other thoughts off your mind. For example, there is a test in school tomorrow, if you're worrying about that test, then you're not concentrating. If you're not concentrating, then you're not making the right moves! Clear everything off your mind, think about the GAME. Think about the moves, think about the things I told you!
If you want to be cheap; then try to get your enemy off track. Start talking to him, ask him how he's doing. Ask him questions like how old he is, etc. This will stop him from concentrating; he will be typing; not thinking. This is perfect; you can make some friends by chatting & win the game. Just remember: Focus on the GAME, do not focus on talking. This is the reason most people lose, they like to chitter-chatter.
Now here are some 'Basic' tips that can help you win the game in general.
1) If you have a turtle; move your witch near the front. If possible; move your witch in and 1 shot the cleric. It's worth it, a DMW for a cleric. Completely worth it.
2) I use this basic routine; Move your scout in, and shoot the cleric. Next turn, enemy will most likely hit your Scout. After your scout gets hit; heal with your cleric. They will most likely attack your scout AGAIN. Then use your Barrier Ward. You're scout will be at about 10 health. Then next turn, you can take out their cleric with your scout, and retreat. When your scout is back at 'base' then you can heal up.
That's all for now guys, and I really hoped I helped. If you read all of this it should at least help you a little bit; and if it doesn't, I'm sorry. It helps me a lot though. I improove a lot when I do these. Once again, thanks for reading my post; and peace out everyone!
