Clan scores or clan rankings

Can anyone tell me how taorankings.com keeps the clan scores? Just wondering cause its confusing how KoTr has more representitives but netjak still has more clan score [on banff] I just want to know how it works.

You can change the settings to only include people who have 1300+, 1400+, etc. The scores are simply the sum of the stats of the players in the clans who meet the requirements you set.

Yes, however the NJ representatives have higher stats than most of the KoTR members. As I said, the clan score is determined by the sum of the clan members' stats, not by the number of clan representatives.

The Netjak players may be outnumbered, but they're ranked higher.

KOTR has 8 1300+ players. That number drops to 3 when counting 1400+ players. At 1500+ it drops to 2. At 1600+ it drops to 0.

NJ has 6 1300+ players. That number drops to 5 when counting 1400+ players. At 1500+ it stays the same at 5. At 1600+ it drops to 3.

It's quality over quantity. The 6 NJ's players' average stats are 1575.67. The 8 KOTR players' average stats are 1405.75. That's why NJ is ranked higher, despite being behind by 2 members.

Now, this can be contradicted when the ranked player advantage is overwhelming. For example, SI's ranked players' average stats are 1478.36. That's nearly 100-stats behind NJ's average, yet SI is ranked higher. This is because SI has 11 players, which is nearly double the amount of NJ's 6 players. Although, SI's average stats is higher than KOTR's as well - just goes to prove that quality and quantity go a very long way.

Thanks. I post on a sports forum where statistics and numbers are thrown around all the time, so it comes naturally to me by now. It didn't really take long at all to calculate. BR's TAOrankings site did most of the work for me.

You should take time to help out a newbie next time. :) It happens few and far between nowadays.

Our main game right now is Gears 2 and we pretty much focus on all the big multiplayer games on the 360 right now since they're the games that pretty much everyone has. Despite being a pretty good game, I can't help but wonder why Civ Rev is on there, but whatever.

So this is just a thing that happened. Mind the weird pages like how we supposedly have a clan ranking system, Gears of War "titles" (my title is "The Asian", which is very correct in so many ways it's not even funny :lol, and how some blatantly obvious terms are listed for newbies, but they're all mandatory... I guess. Despite being a Freewebs site, that'll be the clan's home for now (though I do have a GS union that's under reconstruction...)

why are clans ranked in four different ways. sure, for small player clans to be ranked most powerful, moxious, muscular and magical, that is an amazing achievement for those players.

you have 4 individual rankings to rank individual players. clan rankings rank group success. this can be improved. one way to do that is to set a threshold. I'd plump for one of 25.

with clan threshold the average rank would be an average of at least 25 players. getting two-five players on top of clan rankings is easy (much easier that to get on top of individual rank).

to get 25 members to an average level high enough for the clan to get top-spot and stay on top spot would be harder to achieve. it would really measure something.

clan would need to be skilled at making sure every member stayed consistently the best. this would require communication, cooperation, organisation and spirit within the clan.


this idea would encourage clan competition in cooperative ways, within each clan. this in addition to the conflictual set up that's provided very popular competition between clans.
