Since I am playing alot of random people on GL I also often play against Gold with a Grey.
The problem with most strong Grey vs Gey sets is that there are usually one or two vulnerable units (Witch, Scout) in positions where they can be easily attacked by a Dragon or DSM, then you either have to protect them loosing one valuable turn or loose them to get astrong offense going.
I was just wandering if anyone has thought of a good grey set to counter Golds?

If a gray beats a gold, then the gold either had a huge set disadvantage OR the gold really sucks.

You can't counter golds. You can outplay them, that's it. Best way is with a chanty and barrier ward combo.

For the most part, it's true-- you won't really be able to get a good "counter" on gold formations. You'll have to rely on outplaying them by a wide margin. What I did on Legends was use a dropless rush but with a BR instead of a pyromancer, and I beat a few really good players, though.

Dropless rushing is usually the best bet for it. However, if you want to rely more on their underestimating you, go with default with a LW instead of a pyromancer, up front and centred. Then move your chanty, scout, and DMW closer to the middle, for protection. Or just use Default, heh.

No need to discriminate.
