I'm working on this online homework thing for chemistry and I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong here ...

Their hint doesn't help, and based on the hint they gave when it's wrong, I thought I had everything here right.
Apparently I only have the Ca2+ right though ... I don't think I'm entering the info wrong either since that one was right.

Anyone know if my answers are wrong or did the TA enter the answers wrong?
(I'm trying to get 100 so I can't view the solution without having it permanently counted wrong, otherwise I'd have checked it)

I took 2 chem classes but dont remember it... sorry guy. but you sure do have a lot of incorrect tabs at the top there..

I'm pretty sure your TA is wrong. I haven't been in Chemistry for years, but I'm pretty sure ions are still chiseled into my brain pretty well.

Edit: Make sure you formatted it right. Online hw is picky about that.

you represent singular charges (+1) with just a + and -1 with just a -. try that.

I'm pretty sure your TA is wrong. I haven't been in Chemistry for years, but I'm pretty sure ions are still chiseled into my brain pretty well.

you represent singular charges (+1) with just a + and -1 with just a -. try that.

DD hit a home run with this one. ;)
Also needed to remove the parentheses from the NO3 and OH.
All of this seems a bit ridiculous to have to do since this thing has been accepting answers that were off a bit when rounding, so to not accept it how I had it was just dumb.

So, another question from this online thing.

I need to predict the reaction of aluminum and sodium hydroxide.
There is a video that goes along with it that just says the reaction is sodium hydroxide that reacts with aluminum metal to form sodium aluminate and hydrogen.

Al + NaOH --> NaAlO2 (based on what the equation sodium aluminate is given as online) + H2

The problem is that you can't balance that as far as I'm aware because of the way the sodiums and oxygens are matched.

I looked online and saw some, and this one makes sense, but it isn't correct either apparently.
2Al + 2NaOH + 2H2O = 2NaAlO2 + 3H2

Anyone have any idea?
