View Full Version : Old Arcadian Legenders challenge the Badasses to WAR!!!

Because NJ only seems to be interested in posturing and pandering nowadays, I decided to give the Badasses what they wanted: A FIGHT TO THE DEATH!

We are not only interested in hiding behind what we once were.

We do not wish to only live in the glory days.

We are confident in our current skill and laugh in the face of all those clans who bring up the past to try to establish some semblance of power in current day TAO.

So what say you Badasses? Do you choose to wait on the NJ12, a prospect that seems less and less likely to come to fruition as the days go on? Are you going to hide behind a previous challenge and ignore our declaration of battle against you? OR will you FIGHT!?

However, this is not just a declaration for war, but a call to arms for all previous ALers to come join us in this soon-to-be epic confrontation.

Come and join Bax, Greed, Gryph, a-99, 2xfire, AU, DD, Dresicos, Lord Sesshomaru, Spencer 555, Scytheman, Sacred Silence in this fight to the death.

Rally former ALers and we will triumph over these so called Badasses!

I'm rusty as hell, haven't been in AL in years, and have no clue who all is on the Badasses or whatever they call themselves, but I'm down.

Sounds good bax. I personally wouldn't mind a war with you guys, I don't know what my other teamates think about this but we will discuss this with the rest of the members. Just be patient. The Badasses will have an answer for you guys as soon as possible :).

Id like to offer my assistance to AL in this war, I was and still probably would be a loyal member of AL if it werent for the fact that it has died over the years :P. My references are mantits, DD, unfo, gig and several other smexy ALers that Id love to fight alongside.

AL was definitely one of the more fun clans i was ever in. Probably only topped by The Badasses/my days of SI with INUYASHA.

Glad you guys stepped up and challenged us. This should be fun :)

In terms of the actual running of the war, i think that every player's ability to play all three styles should be taken into account. That will give the best representation of the best all-around team. All members of The Badasses are more than active enough to play 3 games with each of your members, so i wouldnt be opposed to making it one huge round-robin where everybody plays everybody else, but im not sure what everybody else thinks about how feasible that may be.

I'll PM you guys later today (after work) with a preliminary set of rules and we'll work off that. Hopefully we'll be able to start by this weekend. (Incidentally I'll be gone all weekend but see no problem with starting without me)

Be prepared for some unique rule suggestions.

I'm sure there are a few more old ALers hanging around that would still love to participate, so do it!

I'm sorry, but this is just dumb. Take into the account that most of us playing for AL are no longer very active, thus would not have the necessary time to dedicate to a "huge round-robin" of three games each time. Plus, as a majority, we're probably only proficient enough to stand a chance in one particular style. If you guys are indeed experts, or whatever you label yourselves as, in every style, then you can just assign players to each one. Therefore, I'm recommending we run this as we did when AL warred the NJ 12 back in the day. 4 Grey, 4 Turtle, 4 Freestyle. Depending on who wins in each round, the number of players per style can be adjusted. It worked well last time and was damn fun. I don't see why there should be any objections, other than if we can't get 12 players, but that shouldn't be an issue.

Why does everyone use teams of 12? Netjak are the only clan which limits clan wars to 12 players.

Darkness, as I have repeatedly stated in various threads, we will agree on whether or not to take on the Bad Asses (if they still want to take us on) when we have a full and announced team.

Pretty lopsided rosters but hey its all for good fun right?
I kinda think we could produce a stronger team if we waited a bit for some other players to jump in, but its all good. Whatev you want to do bax. Doesnt change my games either way.

Well, the Badasses already had 12 eager participants after someone was toying with them about the possibility of a war. After it was evident it was never going to happen, I thought it would just be easiest to amass 12 old ALers and actually do something.

I'm glad NJ is taking credit for a number easily divisible by 3.

If Twelve saw the NJ today, he would probably just change it to the Netjak 1 and let AFO do everything, seeing as hes, basically, the only consistent and active good player left in NJ. Maybe add in Meph too just because hes a stud.
