The Rules

Round 1: The Challenge System

-Each clan of 12 will be divided into 3 groups of 4. The groups are chosen by Prof and I.
-Each group will be matched against a group of the other clan.
-For each of the groups, one of the clans will be randomly selected to make the first clan challenge.
-As a team, they will decide one person of their clan to challenge an opposing person in the other clan that is within their group.
-As a team, the challenged clan will decide to accept the challenge, or use their ONE refusal.
-If accepted, the Challenger picks one style of the three (Freestyle, Turtle, Grey) which will NOT be played. The Challenged will pick one of the two remaining styles which WILL be played.
-If refused, the Challenging clan will choose another challenge. This challenge is automatically accepted. Again, the Challenger will pick one of the three styles to which will NOT be played. The Challenged will pick one of the two remaining styles which WILL be played.

NOTE: Only Bax will post the official challenge for AL and only Prof will post the official challenge for the Badasses.

This happens simultaneously in the other two groups.

Once the first game is played in a group. The clan which was challenged, becomes the challenger, and the same format is followed.

Once all 6 games (2 in each group) have been played, Round 1 is over.

Round 2: Random

As the name suggests, this entire round is randomized.

-If one clan now outnumbers the other clan, people will be randomly chosen to sit out.
-Now that the remaining members are equal, match-ups will be randomly chosen.
-Now that match-ups are chosen, the style to be played in each match-up will be randomized.

Once all the games are played, round 2 ends.

Round 3: More Challenges

In this round, instead of splitting each clan into smaller groups, it will just be the remaining players of one clan versus the remaining players of the other clans.

One clan will be randomly chosen to make the first challenge, and the challenge rules will follow exactly as they did in the first round.

Once the two games are played, round 3 is over.

Round 4: More Randomization

This will follow the exact same rules for round 2.

NOTE

Once one clan has 3 or fewer people left, we will forgo the rounds and follow a PSST-like ending.

-The clan with more players puts their players in their specific styles.
-The clan with 3 or fewer players left decides the order in which they play the other clan's remaining players.
-This lasts until one clan is eliminated.

Timeline

The groups for the first round will be randomized on Thursday.

Challenges and backup challenges will need to be decided by the following Tuesday. Challenges will need to be posted in the thread by either Prof or I. Once a challenge (or backup challenge) is accepted, the game has ONE week to be played.

Once a game has been completed in a group, a few days (at most 3) will be given for the new challenges to be made. Again, once a challenge (or backup challenge) is accepted, the game has ONE week to be played.

For randomized rounds, games must be played in ONE week.

Either way, If you're cool with them Prof, you PM them too and they can post here the Matchups. For simplicity, I'm just naming my groups: Group A, Group B, Group C for now. Later they will have awesome kickass names that will demoralize you into oblivion.

Bax and Professor will be likely the captains, they can make all the challenges for all groups, but, there will be only 1 refusal per team. Challenges will start with Bax's, then Prof can make his challenge and so on till they complete all the matches... this only for first round.


If anybody wants to make a challenge, it would be via Bax's or Prof's voice to make it official, from there they will decide to accept it or not.

It's pretty simple, Bax makes 1 challenge per group seeing as it said each group challenge works simultaneously. And there are only 6 games in round 1, 1 accepted challenge from each team per group.

Oh yes, i missread that part, sorry but that was at 3 or 4 am when i read the rules.

The challenger team will pick 1 style that will NOT be played to then be accepted or denied by the challenged team, and now the challenged team will pick the style that WILL be played.


To your second question:

No, its 1 challenge per "captain" per turn for all the groups, 1 refusal option.

Lets say:

1.-
Bax: challenge--> Scytheman vs Puni (style that will NOT be played: grey)
Prof: challenge "accepted" (style that WILL be played: freestyle)

2.-
Prof:challenge--> Celtic vs Bax (style that will NOT be played:turt)
Bax: challenge "denied"

... and so on.


*If a challenge is denied, the challenger team will have a chance to make another challenge straight after this one that will be automatically accepted since there is only 1 refusal.

That is just an example of how this should work, just remember that will be only 1 refusal per team and this is the only round that this challenge system will work.

In your example luzbel, Bax can choose that the first challenge should be AU vs Deto, but it's up to AU to pick the style that they can't play. So if AU wanna play free he has to say that he doesn't wanna play ,let's say, turtle. Then he can only hope that Deto chooses to play free instead of grey (it's a 50% bet of AU there). But Prof could also recline that challenge if he has some other plans for Deto (maybe he wanted him right in turtle) but that's the only decline he can do in that round

Bax will make his challenges for each team. So he will decide who he wants to play the first game from each group.

I can either accept or decline. Once for each group. After that though, and the first opponents are chosen, I make my challenges. Now bax can decline or accept. 6 games will be played, then we will move to round 2. That round will be total randomization. If Team A has 12 players, and Team B has 6, Team A will have 6 players randomly chosen to sit out. The remaining players will then have their opponents chosen randomly, as well as the style of play. After that, Round 3 will commence, which will be just like Round 1.

When one team has 3 or less players, it will turn into a PSST style until only one team is left standing. Everybody understand?

Regardless though, this can't start obviously till Bax returns; most likely on Sunday. So everyone be ready.

Ill play as often as I can, but my weekdays are pretty much the opposite of yours lol. On wednesday I can be on from 5pm to 12am or so, friday I can be on from 11pm - 2am, on saturday I can be on between 12am and 3pm and on sunday I can be on at any time you need me to be on after noon but preferably between 12am and 3pm because I would rather spend time with my friends/girlfriend then play tao after 3pm :P. Those are quite literally the only times I will be able to make this week because I am going to be quite busy with work and school.

I suppouse your times are Gmt-4 as well. In my country our time was changed a week ago so i am not sure Gmt-4 is my time zone anymore, i am sending this post at 9:15 am. Let me know if i am right.

If we both are Gmt-4 i can play today 5pm, considering is the only time we have in common in weekdays. And as i said before i won't be sure when can i play this weekend. comments: pretty good game. 3 knight + DT vrs his standard second corner. He got first turn, and if he hadn't, I'd have won pretty easily, but it was an even start. Midgame was player pretty well, and I thoroughly enjoyed having to run out my timer to make the right move. Then I clicked his scout to see where he could move; "perfect" I though, he can't get my cleric, so I kill his wisp with my DT, not realizing this freed him a space. If I had healed... I think I could have taken it. Very bad mistake, but he also had a LOS mistake that cost him, so, again, we're even.

He got a few hits/blocks -- by NO means anything egregious -- and just outplayed me in end game. Well played priest, was fun.

Slayer already pointed this out, but what you're saying is that I am free to schedule and miss as many times as I want throughout the week and then I can ask for an extension for 1 day and give a 15 minute window and the other player will be DQed? I love your logic.

I am on again, it is noon another time that 2x said he could make it on. ill wait a little bit, but not long. It would have been nice to get a time from him...

So i have been on for 45 minutes and can probably be on for another hour. I was not able to hook up with 2x yesterday (not for lack of trying) he just didnt get on when he said he didnt have work. So i am on now, he said he MIGHT be on, and if not he said he could be on in the afternoon (no specific time was given then). I dunno when this game is gonna happen. DK and Bad maybe we could get a little extension, your call though.
Note that these are two different scheduled times that 2xfire missed.

This is the first and last time that im going to explain something as simple as this to you, i hope you get it because it does not take a brain to understand it.


Lets say we have a "player x" and a "player w", they are playing for lets say a very important tournament, ok?


Player x takes the lead of the game by making some excellent moves fairly quick and earlier in the game but turns out that the player w makes a huge and crucial missclick.... At this point player x could win already and player w has no chance. It is just a matter of good sportsmanship, correct?


We will have 2 out comes for this situation:

A)Player X does not give back that missclick and ends up winning the game due to the already gained advantage earlier in the game besides this missclick.

B)Player X DOES give it back, player w gets back into play and makes a huge effort to win the game, in the other hand player x goes worst and messed up his own advantage in the game, his ending was terrible and player w ends up winning the game eventhough he alreaday had it lost.


Is option B anybody's fault?

No, they both played fairly and with good sportsmanship but lets say that if player x would've decided to play only fairly he would've won the game...


Is keeping that missclick against the rules?

Not really, but playerx would think twice next time if really want to give it back.


Who deserves the win?

The one who made the better effort in the end, the one who worked harder although the conditions were against him since the beggining, in this case player w.


I hope you can understand a simple situation like this, lets say player x could have won it easier and since the begginning but he GAVE a second chance to then just mess up himself and lose that game.

If you actually read it you can get what my explanation is.

And no, nobody should miss their pre-arranged matches for whatever reason, in this case a player got support from his opponent, and this last , screwed himself by missing a "last chance" date wich i granted.

They both knew that it was a deadline day, one did come and the other one not although he was on forums like 5 hrs a go before the time he did NOT come back at the pre-scheduled time.

If you can NOT make it at an "X" time, why would you agree to it anyways?

So, why not just dq 2xfire since they had to ask for an extension because 2xfire missed 2 times they had in common to play each other. If you allowed an extension to happen, you should consider the history both players had before having to ask for it.

I've been in the same case a few times before and both players have been dq'ed.

In my eyes, to dq only Llrich it was the worst decision you could make.
