I need help on becoming a gold

I'm not sure about becoming gold, i think once i payonce 'm stuck paying forever. Is this true?

If you pay with Paypal it is a subscription paypment. To stop paying simply cancel the subscription from insiade your Paypal account, and no more money will be spent.
If you pay by credit cards, just cancel future payments.
If you pay by the new method, just stop sending in payments.
