Satyr:
HP: 35
Armor: 8
Blocking: 50% front, 25% sides
Power: 12
Movement: 3
Recovery: 2
Range: 5 sqaures
Special stuff: Fires twice with every time it attacks
Looks like: About man sized, bottom half is goat's lower body and legs, upper half is mean looking guy with two goat horns growing out of his head. Carrys two spears.

Tactics: Yes, it is a slightly weakened version of the Scout. The thing that seperates it is the fact it can fire two shots each attack. You can seperate the shots, (fire one at a weakened pyro or witch, then fire the other off at a weakened knight to kill both off) or you can use both shots on one guy. Feedback please.

lol
i posted a satyr character earlier

the thing with yours is that satyrs dont attack, they charm people and generally with all faerie type creatures just cause mischief, not attack

(Smacks esoitl really hard) Learn your mythology. Satyrs were known for being incredibly fierce when their lifestyle of never ending drunken orgies with nymphs was threatened. They often rode small war donkeys into battle. And next time, post something useful, like how the unit can be made to be better.

im aware of the lifestyle of the satyr and i also know that they can be aggressive WHEN PROVOKED
i have yet to read anywheres of a headhunting satyr running around with spears looking for blood.....that was my point above, which is merely a criticism of your idea since it doesnt really show a satyr as it is
also about the war mule thing, do you have a source where you got that from? id like to read it since i have never heard tell of satyrs riding mules into battle let alone fighting a war. im not saying that you are lying, but a lot of mythology can be opinionistic.

AOM files on mythology. If you don't know what AOM is, don't ask.

Yes, The Titans expansion to be excate. And before you flame me because I got my info from another game you can try to realize that Ensemble worked their butts off to make sure their information was accurate.

lol flame you for getting info from another game, no not quite

i will laugh at you for calling me out though. wtf, i didnt think i needed to justify myself but now i see it was a waste of time
your trusting information from a game supplement???
here i am looking through my mythology texts, written by professors with PhD's in mythology trying to find something dug up in a game supplement. i have read many very shoddy written journal articles that are inaccurate as they are too opinionative and based on speculation, and those were written by people with some credentials. really though anything in a game is based loosely on fact and modified to suit their needs. i mean really, how the fuck does a half goat ride a mule anyways??

really dude thats pretty lame to call me out from info based on a game supplement.

just out of curiosity, does it mention Dionysus at all in those volumes of great lore??

Yeah. Dur. Dionysus was the Greek god of wine merriment and mystery. He was followed around by various creatures who in there druken revelement would suddenly turn violent and start killing people. Don't ask me how a goat guy would ride a donkey. If you are going to ask questions about mythology, then why not question how a whole bunch of goat guys on war donkeys managed to defeat a massive hundred armed and headed giant? (The Hekagiantes (did I spell that right?)

First, the Giants you are referring to are called Hecatoncheires. Second, they had 100 hands and 50 heads. Third, there were only 3 of them. Fourth, they were brothers to the Titans and were imprisoned by the time the Satyrs came around.

This reference (http://www.desy.de/gna/interpedia/greek_myth/creation.html) is where I pulled this information from. I have seen similar sites but they don't differ on who the Hecatoncheires were supposed to be.

Ok, I admit I was wrong on the heads/hands thing. Spelling could differ from place to place though, so depends on who you are asking. I didn't mention how many there where or if there was more then 3 of them. Also, even in your reference it says that the Titans and Zeus and his brothers, sisters and allys fought. Dionysus, one of Zeus's allys, called upon satyrs in these battles so they would have been around at that time. Now, can we all just stop argueing over who is right on the mythology bit on this? If I offer a full apology to esoitl and we all just delete this random posts that basically spam, can we just try and make the unit better and not argue over something that doesn't even matter in the game?

the Hecatoncheires werent really aanyone special
just another group of giants thrown in the mix to help explain the creation myth

anyways yes i would love to see a Satyr character made
whats kind of stats can we agree upon for it??

I don't really care where it is a satyr or not. It can just be a guy who looks kinda like a Scout but fires two arrows and is called a marksman. I just wanted to make a character that could fire two shots in a row and remembered my favorite AOM: TT myth unit. I am looking for ways to make it balanced, if it is unbalanced, or ways to improve upon a design that is balanced, but a little shaky.

I didn't know people really put so much effort into trying to flame and/or defend how a unit should be presented... oh well, I'm just going to ignore all the blabbering going on and say I like the unit. :)

This guy seems to be a acting like me. There is only one true Jack Sparrow, and that is Captain_Jack_Sparrow from the legends server: www.digisonline.com/tactics/play
Go there. They don't charge you monthly to be gold.

Also, this idea sucks. It would never fit in with the game play. SRY, Omega_Paladin

Who is acting like you? And why won't it fit in? And someone is right. Your pirates were pretty dumb.

Don't be so mean to those poor pirates. How could you not love the pirates? They have boats... I mean boats! C'mon, boats!

esoitl
