uhhh, i made this guy like a week ago and i got one reply so I'm repostin it. Sorry, but i thought i had a pretty good idea and i need some comments... COMMENT ON THIS!!!

ok, this guy is gonna be a scrawney little creepy dude. Sort of like a cross breed of Golem from LOTR and the evil terminator from T2... minus the skin...

name: Anamorphe
HP: 32
Armor: 0
Blocking: 90% front, 70% side, 50% back (its "block" is when he quickly liquifies and then solidifies again, avoiding most physical harm/damage
Movement range: 4
Power: N/A
Range: 1 space
Recovery: 1 turn
Special Abilities:
Teleport
Mirror- when Anamorphe is adjacent to any ENEMY unit, his attack is to completely copy that unit, from its remaining HP to its blocking to its shape. When it copies something it does not look exactly the same however. I was thinking it could be like a shiny liquidy looking thing with a glint of its teams color, before and after transforming. When it copies a unit, it has its shape, but the same shiny liquidy quality it had before it copied it.

Tell me what you think! Also tell me if I left anything out or if you have any questions.

Something... :D
Well, at least it's a unique idea with the whole mirroring thing. But does it also get the units recovery time and such? It might be a bit overpowered.

Well, could you clarify one thing? Is the copying permanent? Does it wear off? Do you get to copy something else later?

Because if you have to stay as the first thing you copy, this unit is really lame. You either go to a lot of trouble to get a unit that you could have just put there in the first place instead of the anamorph (like a witch) without wasting time, or you get an additional copy of the unit that the rules forbid you to have in the first place (like a fourth knight or, god forbid, a second dragon, which would unbalance the game). The unit is either entirely worthless or way way way too powerful. It does not add positively to the game. I.E. - it is borken.

But, if you let it copy more than once, you have an even bigger problem. Say you are down to your last unit, an anamorph, and your opponent is down to his last unit, a knight. The anamorph recovers as quickly as the knight and moves faster. So, every time the knight hits your anamorph, you copy his knight. You effectively have infinite HP and can get hit an infinite number of times, drawing the game without actually putting up any sort of defense or resistance.

Now, imagine you have an anamorph, and your opponent has three knights at full health. You copy one of his knights. He hits you twice. You copy one of his knights. He hits you twice. You copy the same knight. Even with three nights to your one measley unit, you force a draw. This is VERY borken.

Now, imagine, he also has two pyromancers and a cleric. He still can't kill you, provided you copy a knight every time you can. And he has to pre-adopt a very specific defensive posture, hiding his knights behind his cleric and pyromancers in his starting formation to keep you from doing this at will (you are too fast to run away). This is ABSURDLY borken.

Now, imagine he fills out this army with a scout three dark magic witches. If you manage to move your one unit next to one of his knights before it dies (which won't be too hard with a four square range and one recovery, especially since any defense against this tactic would be suicide against any other tactic). Now, with only one unit, you can force a draw against a full and fairly powerful Grey army. One unit draws an entire army. This is ENTIRELY borken.

So, please, change this idea entirely, or just put it to bed. It doesn't work.

This unit could be a good unit if you change some things.
First off 90% front 70% sides is way way to much reduce that to 60%. A question can the anamorph only copy one thing...if so i can see that being balanced, and if not will it reseive any DMG penatly when changing back to its orgnial shape.
(I know my spelling sucks  )

ok, the blocking is really high, but thats to ensure it finds its target... it CAN only copy one thing, i thought being able to switch its copied unit would be too powerful, Pete, i disagree that the unit is useless if it can only copy one unit, you can't always just put on a unit you wanted it to be, you may not HAVE it... another thing, since it would only be open to golds if it WAS a unit, gold vs gold battles could be MUCH more interesting... imagine, two of a unit that you can have one of!!! example... the dragon tyrant...

Which would make it an unfair battle.

This is precisely why morphing units have been repeatedly flamed. If the anamorph was to copy a DSM, say, just 2 DSMs would each have 28 power, enough to kill a witch. Or a dragon tyrant, which would mean having 11 units on the field. It's just not fair.

huh? i got lost in that mirroring stuff plus it sounds sorta like my idea no1 commented on mine though

it wouldn't meen 11 units Bottle, the Anamorphe would CHANGE INTO THE UNIT, that equals 10 units... do the math... personally I think it could open up a whole new generation of strategy in TAO... it wouldn'y be "unfair" in my oppinion.

EDIT: i misread your post Bottle, two dragons WOULD equal 11 units, maybe the opponent could find a way around it... or do the same... or jsu deal with it
