For some reason I can't get the screen to fit correctly on my monitor. It's too large and I can't use many of the options on the screen. If you know why this is or you can fix it please tell me.

Control Panel >> Display >> Settings >> Change the slider from 800 x 640 to anything higher.

I find that hitting F11 still doesn't resize the screen properly, that the bottom line is still cut off... so when I play on a computer with 800x600 rez, I have to type the URL of the flash file into a new window and then it will resize the movie properly. Anyone else have this problem?

I can't even get your suggestion to work.
I'm stuck with my old laptop when i'm at work,
and the max resolution is 600 x 800.
I've tried F11, and I've tried opening the game in a different window.

Are there any other ideas for getting TAO to fit in 800x600?

F11 is the shortcut key for going fullscreen. If you don't use Internet Explorer, then you may experience difficulty.

The best solution is to make your screen resolution higher.

Another solution would just be to find your browsers full screen mode. If this still does not work, you probably need to try the solution above (fix your resolution.)

If your max resolution is 800x600... Perhaps you should invest in a new graphics card.

It's a LAPTOP with a Built in Graphics Card.
It's about 6 years old and has a MAX Resolution of 600x800.
It's also all I can afford. :(

Believe me if I could afford a Laptop with better resolution
I'd go out and buy one just so I could play TAO. ;)

I'm sorry that your computer doesn't support higher resolutions than that, but honestly, going out to get a different notebook graphics card might be worth it, if not only to play TAO, but for generally easier viewing of the screen.

TAO Works best on 1024x768 i use 1152x864

If you're playing in 600 x 800, one solution is to press ctrl n and close the old window. The new window will be scrollable like any web page.

But it feels silly to need to scroll for just one or two lines of text.
The game is only about 40 or 50 pixels too big each way.
On my laptop it's about 1/2 inch too big.

I'd like to see either a slight resize, or a Not Available For Chat button.
I don't want my opponents to think I'm ignoring them,
but I can't see the incoming chat line without scrolling.

secondary solution: Hit *Ctrl + N* once u've opend the TAO game, this basically opens a second window to the same url ur on. In other words, it will open a full size browser window, not just the smaller one. Its what I use when I play from one of my friends comps since he has the screen size problem too.

That's what xyx just said.
But, even when you do that on an 600x800 screen, you still need to scroll up and down and side to side to see everything.

And the annoying thing is that it's only a tiny bit too big.
So it seems like it would be easy to fix in an update.

Here's an annoying solution, but it could work.... whenever you see the text in the chat area go up, stat yourself to bump the latest message to the visible area...

Or you could just scroll up and down like everyone else has suggested, it's not really that hard once you try it;)

Why should they alter the game to be in a lower resolution than what it currently works in? Its like downgrading something. Its not a "fix" if your thinking that this is a bug...its just that if your resolution is set to 800x600, then you can see it properly because the game is meant to be seen in higher ones. Thats a problem with ur own comp, not the game.

office_shredder has the right idea. Thats what one of my friends does to help see the text. Its reaaalllly annoying when some ppl constantly spam stuff by typing a single character continuously in order to see the text. Using /stat accomplishes the same thing and you don't spam up the rest of the lobby.
