Why is the server you play the best? ;)
Im looking for the best server to play on, and first i thought it might have been Baniff, but now i cant even connect,
I guess its between Arma and Great Lakes
but i like a server with lots of players so i can play a lot
and plus since im soon upgrading to gold, id like to make the right choice with which server to be on
Great Lakes-Oldest server with the oldest player. It was the first TAO server established.
Banff-The default server, lots of newbies can be found there. But there is still VERY formidable players there.
Armegeddon-You will never encounter more spamming in your life.

Great Lakes has more experience than the other servers. It has a decent ammount of people.
Banff is the default server, but not a lot of new people are there. They'd rather play on the dragon server. It usually has less people than the other two.
Armageddon is the newest server. It has good players, but it has more n00bs/newbs than the other two. It usually has more people on it.
Its pretty much a preferrence, but I like Banff. All the servers have great players, so you can't go wrong.

GL is the best. Only us Great Lakers actually know how to spell the name of our server.
Yup, we aren't on Baniff, or The Dragon Server, we can spell, and we know we're on Great Lakes.

Well that depends, if you want great players and good people, a lot of competition, fun games and a great atmosphere come to Armageddon. If you want an easily spelt server name go to Greatly Lacks.

And every time we establish Armageddon is the best as well, whats the point of establishing it over again and again?

Everyone is just going to say their server is best because we are all just biased little freaks. So what's the point of these "Best Server" threads??? Just randomly play on each one and go with the one you like best.

What bias? whos biased? people form all sewrvers know armageddon is the best...

Great Lakes would be the best.
Banff: Dont like the name..... And its been offline for quite a while.
Armageddon: Filled with noobs. Even though theres some good players there.
Great Lakes: Most challenging server, with the oldest members of TAO, Nice name, and has the unique barrier ward:D

Great Lakes is BY FAR the greatest of all, but there is a reason that so many more people are on Armagedon and BANFF. I mean, would you rather be on a server with a stick with rags hanging off of it for an icon, or would you rather be on a server with a deadly dragon icon or archer icon?
Who gives a shit, once the gold server is out, the normal three will have no good players.

Not true. I believe the gold accounts will be copied, not transferred, to the gold server, so the other 3 servers will still be used by golds who want to fight their old grey friends or want a battle "at home". Anyway, how can you generalise so much as to say that the only good players are gold players?

Yeh a lot of golds can be pretty crap ^^

OK OK I CHANGE MY MIND...
The best server will be the gold server.

Rogue started on Banff.. :)
Okay GL is all of three days older than Banff so how is either one better? Currently banff is the default.. Army was for awhile and so was GL. The most n00bs can be found on Army. It seems they are attracted to the Dragon icon... Good marketing there.. thank god they don't storm Banff. GL use to have good players but most have quit. Banff is still one of the best and more legends players visit there than any other server.
Oh yeah and Banff has more spanish and canadian players then any other server. Army is the practice grounds GL is full of snobs and Banff is full of gamers... Oh and whinners..
Average ages:
GL - 18
Banff - 22
Army - 13
This is from my expericences. And I liked to play alot and this is what I have found to be true.

So by saying that most of the noobs are attracted to the "dragon icon", does that also mean that these "legenders that visit you more than any other server" contrast? The only reason more legenders visit Banff is because it is the default server, which means they don't even bother clicking either GL or Armageddon.
Whatever, I'm tired of arguing which is better and which isn't. Let's wait for the gold server to proclaim which server is the best. Oh and also Tcbb/Mysterious Wanderer, he has spent his time (and extra $10) playing people from the three servers so he has a pretty good view of the three servers.

Advices for investing a gold account:
For experienced/non-existant players seeking challenges:
Great Lake had the most amount of experienced players. But sadly many have got tired of this game and don't play very often. Many of the remaining are rank driven and consider playing players with low rating a waste of their time(though my ex-clan consists of only challenge-driven cool people:)). But if you get lucky, you can find the greatest game in your life here.
If you want to experience the horror of mage-bomb, go to Baniff. After Ozmaj85, KWarrior, Smubeht left, brutal pyros(not pyro pirates) dominate the land. They have over burned turtles for breakfast, over burned turtles for lunch; as well as for dinner and snack. If you insist on using stoney and cleric, at least have a lighting ward and some knights. The pyros love turtles, and won't refuse a battle.
Amegeddon has the most amount of spamming. The good thing is that snarr and other out_cast members are usually in the lobby, ready for you to pick up. If you have decent skill, you will receive a warm welcome in the Dragons land, even if your rating is only 750. But other than out_cast(which has fewer than 10 active members) and phenix reborn(which has fewer), there isn't much left of amedeggon.
My information is a little out dated, hopefully that helps.
I predict that when the gold server comes out, Baniffers will scare the hell out of turtles in GL and Army who never see 5 pyros in the front line. But eventually the server with superior skill will rule.
For newbies:
Choose the server that has the best avatar. When I was a newbie I chose to go gold on Baniff(I intuitively prefered the agile archer over the powerful dragon. And that little stick sticking out of a big pound of water? No way!). Divine Right made a mistake and I end up in Great Lake, which I am pretty glad.

I agree with the statement that Glers are snobbish...sorry but when i started playing this game...GL was all that was offered and that is where I established myself...and the people that I run with in GL have also been around since the start and well we have a sense of pride about it...sometimes that pride comes off as snobbiness...sorry
I started on the Great Lakes first because the Dragon seemed to threatening in the sense that I thought it would the most advanced of the two, with Banff the middle server. I looked at it and its pictures in order of skill, it seems I was wrong though, and its pretty much the otherway (I'm a Gl - Banff Player)
The barrier ward which looked to me like a shiny thing at the time seemed the most appealing to me because of the name and the avatar; it seemed the best place to learn how to play the game, and I wasnt wrong. It taught me alot of the basic techniques and plays, yet I learnt all the advanced stuff in Banff, and Armageddon I dont touch for the reason that it seems to of attraced the attention acording to people, that it is full of idiots, and I dont like to socialise with idiotse

This is not strictly true. It's only really netjak.com members who use the mage bomb. I know of no SI people who use it regularly. The other golds tend to use turtles as well.
And the name isBANFF. NOT BANIFF.
You say it as if Pyro rushing is bad.
and at first glance Banff does look like Baniff, thats why people call it Baniff. And does it matter? I reckon Baniff sounds better:)

I think Banff must be the best server since it has become a legend and myth in its own right.

Yeah...its offline a lot these days...just like non-existance and the gold server (possibly) "myth."
I still say the Veterans Server Ach requested is an awesome idea.
