Sure. I play a FREE one called Adventure Quest. You play a brave adventurer from the town of Battleon, and by fighting a wide variety of monsters and going on various quests, you can gain experience, train in stats like Strength, Intellect and even Charisma, and obtain weapons of great power.

Though the game is free, donating 12 dollars will get you all kinds of cool equipment and extra features. Free accounts are not wiped, though.

The game even has its own moderated and filtered chat room.

Also, every Tuesday night around 8 to 9 pm Eastern time, the mastermind and creator of the game comes on to begin a Launch Night, which is somewhat like a unit drop. Name me another game where you get an opportunity to talk with the guy behind all your fun, I dare you.

Why is it cheeky for him to ask about an RPG in TAO forums? TAO isn't an RPG. It's a turn based strategy game. Kind of like chess.

RPG's are normally first person adventures.

The only way TAO could be considered an RPG is in Wurtil's case, cause that dude's definitely got himself immersed in this game!! :)

Erm actually muds are the first mmorpg but if you are taking about ones with graphics then your talking about the VERY first NeverWinter Nights that was hosted by aol. started around 93 or so when aol was pay by the hour

Try runescape.com, if you want to be a member you have to pay 5$ a month, but you can have a free account. It's fun until you get to the last free mission, then you have to train and stuff, it takes a long time to get there though... Try it, it's fun.

runescape rocks but in my personel opinion www.grendelscave.com owns it and every other free online rpg to date, and it is an MMORPG (to an extent... go play it u'll understand what i mean)

Adventure Quest rocks! I don't play TAO that much anymore because of it. I also stopped my gold account so I could become a Guardian there. A guardian is like the equilivent of being a gold here. You get special features, ect. Go to www.battleon.com

Ok this online rpg that im talking about is sort of like runescape. With the exeption of beter graphics and beter gameplay. Helbreath is the name of the game. Now if you go to the official HB (helbreath) web site you will have to pay like 10$ a month for this game. But there are free servers out there with are very fun and adictive. One of the servers is called Helbreath Redemption with is the very best and its on top of the charts. Its website is www.hbred.com you have to download the game tho but its most definitely worth it. If you are looking for a great RPG with kool friendly people to meet check out that game and most of all that SERVER its free and fun.
