In case you haven't heard yet, I have made the release date for the Gold server for this Friday night! Yes, this is an official message by me, no second hand information. There is still a lot of work to do but we will be working around the clock to meet this goal.

Now we need your help, we need to get the Gold server named. Here is a list of names that I have compiled that members from the TAO community suggested, I have chosen the top 10.

I like Vale the most. I want something unique. I also like the ring of it. Think about role-playing. The kingdom of Vale could be where the most powerful players reside. I think it could be cool. Vale seems more proper and powerful than Revelation or something like that, in my opinion. Plus, Vale sounds cool:D

Nope, I can't add any more ideas. You will have to choose from the 10 that are on the poll. Plus most of your ideas are 2 words, I wanted to keep the names to 1 word or else names like "Titan's Arena" would be up there.

ok, ok, I'll shut up, I voted chaos as it's the only one that seems really appropriate for all the fighting from the best players going on. Besides, it's the coolset sounding one there. It's just the most appropriate.

We were trying to come up with a server name at work ...

...I suggested "Mulva"

It stuck! hehe

And now, of course, that I'm a grey with no stats, and rusty skills from excessively posting, and no money to buy tao with, now is the time when you decide to release the gold server. Peaches and cream. I'll have to borrow heavily from loan sharks and die messily in public two years from now.

I voted Revelations, just because I like the matrix. Reloaded, Revolutions, Revelations.

Plus it sounds rad. The gold server is a revelation of the golds, as they ascend the golden steps into the glittering heaven promised to them. They all undergo epiphany and clutch their heads at the wonder of it all. The music soars!

Or whatever.

if that is the only reason though then it isnt worth it
myth doesnt seem to portray the greatness of the server well enough to me...It needs a more powerful name

The best part in that movie was when Bill Murray turned around and decked him. What a great film.

What does it matter what the server is called? It will be gold only, and that equals goodness. Be content with whatever name is chosen, which at the moment seems likely to be Myth. Anyone who says thet won't play on a server called something is lying. If you've been gold since before January or December, you're going to be on this server all the time.

I voted hyperion, because I'm a bit of a Starcraft fanatic, and I'd love to be on a battlecruiser server:D

Revelation is/was a clan name on Banff I don't think the server should pay tribute to a clan. Also I am suprised Vale is not higher since it got such an acclaim on the "name a new server thread".
Had I not liked Myth I would also have voted for Vale.

If Myth is such a girlie name.. Maybe it should be a girlie avatar then.. Like stone golem in a dress... Or even a furgon in one.. :P

According to Merriam-Webster Online (http://merriam-webster.com), Hyperion (http://merriam-webster.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=hyperion) was the name of a Titan, a type of greek god. Since the Golds tend to be at leat the demi-gods of TAO (with the admins being the gods proper) I think Hyperion makes for a perfect name.
