help me (said with no enthusiasm)

Ok, i want to change my avaitor to a messed up picture of Bush's head, but i only can save it in file called bmp. for it to work, it needs to be a GIF or JPG file, which for somereason, my computer won't save it on. is it my computer or just me?
if i did this right, my picture SHOULD be shown below... i doubt it'll work though. HELP!

You can use a lot of programs to convert images from .bmp to pretty much any other format. Adobe Photoshop is the program of choice for image manipulation, but there's plenty of smaller, easier solutions to your problem.

Go to www.download.com and search for "image converter" or "conversion." I'm sure you will turn up plenty of free, easy tools for converting, resizing, cropping and adjusting your images.

Then it's just a matter of uploading them to here or finding a third-party server to host them on. Once you have the image in a web-ready format, come back and we'll see if we can't help you display it.
