This morning ten commuter trains in Madrid were bombed at a single train station, killing at least 186 people on their way to work, and injuring nearly 1000 others. The story is covered by msn news at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4502950/, but it's by no means complete, due to the ongoing rescue operations at the site.
This is obviously very tragic, but there's nothing we can do, right? Well, I hope not... I want to find some way to help with the victims and families, or help with the clean-up/rescue at the train station. There may be nothing I can do directly, but there must be something they need, something that would help, that we can send them.
I haven't figured out what I can do yet, but when I find something, would some of you be willing to do the same, if you can? This site is growing increasingly popular, and with enough people willing to help, I'm sure we can make a difference.
e-mail me at brookechenise@hotmail.com (a new account I created just for this) if you have an idea or just would like to let me know I can contact you if I find something.
We can't ignore this... the internet gives us options; allows us to affect things we would never be able to touch, so let's use it. Any ideas?
