I'm new to this and it looks really cool but I don't really know anything about it. Could someone please take me through the basics...I know they are able to be veiwed on the site but considering I know nothing they are very confusing. If anyone helps me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!:D

When you go to play, there are four pictures. Above each one is a name. Depending on which server you are playing on, there will be a red dot next to that server's name.
You are probably on Great Lakes or Banff, because those were the two default servers since the server wipe.

the basics? with no background... gah this could take a while
okay so here r the bare bones basics, when u start out their r two kinds of accounts, grey (what u r) and gold (pay 5 dollars a month to support the game) gold entitles u to some nice things, new units, the 4th server, etc.
when u start out as a grey u get these units
3 Knights: very useful, always have these as a grey, they can take a ton of damage and dish it out as well, plus low recovery time :)
2 pyromancers: these units r... meh, not my favorite, but useful, lowest power of any combat unit in the game but they make up for it with that fact that they can potentially hit 5 units at once!
1 Dark Magic Witch, or DMW: shes kewl, i like her, she can shoot in a straight line up to 4 squares away, everything in those four squars gets hit with a power of 24 (this will kill a cleric in one hit and heavily damage most other units)
1 scout: scouts r ur friends!!! they have a 6 in range, a decent power and a long movement range, learn to use him well and u will be richly rewarded
1 assassin: another of my not favorite units, but she has her uses, she has a fast movement and low recovery (matched only by the knight) and she attacks all 4 squares adjecent to her, mean if she gets into a concentrated group of magic uses, well.. she can wreak havoc
1 enchantress: if u can learn to use her well, the enchantress will be ur best friend next to ur scout, she can (and will) paralyze anything within 2 squares of her (this includes ur own units!) and they will remained paralyzed until u A: move her, or B: she gets hit
1 cleric: clerics r everyones friend (well, mostly) they heal everyone of ur units at once, 12 HP, no matter what (unless they r barriered, get to that in a sec) however they have a HUGE recovery rate, try not to move ur cleric at all costs
1 barrier ward, or BW: i love the BW, it is my friend!!! this has the same range as a scout and can cast a protective barrier around a single unit, making it immune to all attacks (it can however still be paralyzed) the barrier lasts until A: u move or attack with the unit that is barriered or B: the barrier ward itself is attacked
1 Lightning Ward, or LW: uh, yeah... 3 in range, 30 in power, stationary defense platform, need i say more? it can kill a pyro, a witch, and a cleric, with one hit a peice, however it has a very long recovery time so use it sparingly (but not so much as it becomes useless)
NOTE: u may only have a total of 10 units on the feild at any givin time, once u log into TAO go to ur settings and u should see ur formation, adjust as u see fit, fight a couple of battles, think about what needs to be changed, and do it... need anything else PM me or get on over to Great Lakes and i'll see what i can do to help u
