Banners and Long Sigs

Why do people create such huge banners and sigs?
They eat up band width and while they would be cool the first time you saw them,
seeing the same huge banner every other post gets tiresome.

yes but it also identifies u, many times i'll skim a thread and only read a post if i notice it was written by someone i respect, and often times i only see it was one such person when i see their banner


its more of an indentity things than anything else... and as to bandwidth well, it only hurts the first time u load them, after that its fine thanx to ur cache

I can claim to the fact my banner is the longest on here with only one picture :D. Wait....is that a good thing :D?

Ah, the joys of USER CP.
I found the button to kill Sig File Graphics.

Now my poor 1000 year old laptop doesn't choke while I read the forums.

Yup. User CP, edit options, then modify "view users signatures in threads."
You can also kill avatars like this. I would suggest it for all you 56ker's.

I can claim to the fact my banner is the longest on here with only one picture . Wait....is that a good thing ? hey Omega Paladin if yours siggy is longest with ONE(1) pic. mine us lonest with TWO (2) pics MUHAHAHHAHA

yah but is is sitll longer yoshi, his tkaes up 2/3rds of my screen and urs only takes up the remaining 3rd :D
