Welcome to ya’ll new dudes and dudettes it is I, snarr who welcomes you to the TAO forums. I shall here try to answer your most frequent questions and give you some tips to make you start here easier. Sort of like an FAQ for the new dude if you will…
So here we go...
Q: So... How do I play this game?
A: The basics can be found in the how to play section (http://www.tacticsarena.com/howtoplay/) (<-- this is a link), have a read what each unit is capable of doing, this should enable you to have a sound start. I could go on and on rambling about the tactics but really discovering it as you go along battling people is much more fun (and I get to write less :) ). A word of advice though don’t be hitting the lightning ward with you scouts knights or assassin and don’t hit knights on the front either cause they will block!

A: Ok… moving on…
Q: I was in the game and people got really pissed, what did I do this time?
A: People generally don’t like being asked silly questions, ask yourself: did I bug someone to join his clan, did I stall in a game, did I spam the lobby, did I jump a prearranged game, did I thrash talk too much? Any of those would do the trick really. Get it?
Q: No.
A: You'll do great in our forums, no one gets anything here either.
Q: Man people keep flaming me in the forums. What did I do this time?
A: Oh, dude we always do that here, don’t take it too hard, again you must have asked for someone to make you a banner, or created completely pointless threads or spammed or started the flaming yourself necroposted (reviving very old threds). Probably the banner thingy though, people LOVE asking for banners, if you made one of those I too would have flamed you.

Q: So, how do I attach a banner then?
A: Ok here we go..
1) First get a banner made, you can either make it yourself OR ask 1 of the many people who make them (search in general discussion for those people).
2) Next upload your banner onto a site, try: www.walagata.com or www.imageshack.us
3) To add the banner to your signature all you have to do is:

Go to user CP on the upper left hand corner of the screen when your on the forum page.
Go to edit profile when you enter user CP.
Go down to where its says signature.
Type in this (note do not put the periods in). [.img] URL of banner [./img]
Hit save setting.

Voila you got your banner!
If your banner is too long it will annoy people, myself included, and I will hunt you down in the forest like a wild boar using a spoon and my teeth.
Q: Wow that was a long reply
A: Yeah it was.
Q: How do I get the beasty like thingy and dragons and golums?
A: Ok first its golems get golums out of your head, next in order to have access to these units you need a gold account, details on that can be found here:

Q: What so I can’t get any units? Dude this blows.
A: Hold up, you can get unit drops! At 5 random times during the day a red message will appear at the bottom of the screen informing you that if you are currently in battle you will gain one extra unit of a certain type. (I.E: "If you are currently in battle you will gain one Cleric") Now you must win this battle in order to get the unit. Only certain types of units are dropped – assassins, clerics, dark magic witches, pyromancers, enchantresses and barrier wards.
Q: So pressing F5 will not get me more units?
A: No, pressing F5 will make you disconnect from the game. It’s a trick used by people who want to get your rating so don’t press it. Other variations are Ctrl W, Alt F4, Ctrl R and others. Except for F11 be suspicious of anything someone tells you to press.
Q: What’s this Legends thingy I heard people talk about?
A: Sorry what?
Q: Are you even listening to me?
A: Punishment Co. was talking to me. Sorry. What did you say?
Q: I said what is that damn Legends thing I keep hearing about!
A: Legends is another server not included in the 4 serevers that can be found here which are: Armageddon, Banff, Great Lakes and Revelation (gold only server).
Q: How can I make a clan?
A: The command to make a clan is:
/clan name
For example:
/clan snarr's minions
This needs to be typed in game of course. Clans can only be made by gold members, and if you are grey and wish to be a part of a clan you ned to find a clan leader and ask him to invite you. Most clan leaders will ask you to prove your worth before inviting you however. For more about recruitment have a look at clan recruitment forums.
