Link is undergoing a banner changement i think anyway, I also ask people with large banners to change them. The banners should not pass 200 pixels, and hsould really be around the 100-150.

Are you complaining about image size, or about signature size?
If you're complainging about image size, get a better connection. My computer handles the sigs very nicely.
If you're complaining about overall signature size, just turn them off.
There is a limit on the signatures' size, and people are allowed to use it to its full extent.
If the forum administrators decide to lower the limit, so be it, but until then, people are allowed to use what they are given.

Not at all, you will find on seeveral occasions DR telling people off for banner size.

I definatly agree with this one (but I answered meh in the poll cause it's not the biggest concern there is, and it's one of my favourite phrases :D)

Best answer is to turn off the sig's when you are on a slow connection. I recentl;y went dialup for several days, and turned them off, so the load time was not too bad. Makes the forums easy to read.

When you turn it off however it indiscrimenatly turns off everyone's signatures, text too.
The main prolem is resolution rather then memory weight.

Those were from awhile ago, and people's sigs have grown significantly. The largest one I have seen is Omega_Paladin's. His isn't resource-wasting, it's just big. If there is a limit, we're allowed to use it, right?

I dont know what the limit is but people should consider carefuly if to use it because like DR sad he will make a less liberal limit if people abuse it.
Old doesn't mean it no longer applies, there was simply no discussion on the topic recently so it wasn't brought up.

Maybe they should make the limit smaller. That way banners or sigs for that matter couldn't be as big. I think it's ck1 who has a quote in his sig, it's quite big, maybe they should limit the number of characters used more.

I didn't mean it was old and not relevant, I meant it was old and no one had brought anything against large sigs recently, even though the average size has grown immensely. I hate large sigs, don't get me wrong, especially when scrolling through the TWS to type it all out...
It's just, there was a limit, and people can use what they are given. If it needs to be limited more severely, then so be it, but don't complain over something that is given to everyone.

If you say that you don't understand DR's thinking.
He doesn't like to set the limits to what he thinks should be, he much rather trust people not to abuse it and the few exceptional cases dealt with.

They should make it smaller. I like reading sigs but I don't like scrolling over a huge one to get to the next post.
