Ok for anyone who actually plays the game, and for those spending way to much time in these forums, you all need to listen to me, Phate.

I have been playing this game for about 4 months, and in my time playing I have seen quite a few people come and go, and quite frankly its sad to see some of ur friends go, but its only just. For those who have been caught "cheating" I sympathize, I understand your motives and I that people in these servers are far to critical of your intentions. People strive in this world to become better than others, to rise up and actually feel like they have made something of themselves, its only basic human instinct to out do others. Darwinism, survival of the fittest, this principle hold true in this game of tactics and some people feel necessary to utilize this principle in their favor. They simply open up that second window and pop a few more stats to their prized name.

People over react to the concept of "cheating" in this game, since when does stats matter, as long as you know your ability as a player, you have won within yourself, and beat all those, who has put up the fasade of being an elite player. Stats just make people think you are good, but its experience and you dedicated time to the game that shows people what kind of player you are. Its just the newbie golds and newbie gray who think that just becasue they have learned how to move and attack with units, they can beat you. But you know, this game is a pattern. You join tao, start out as a gray, amke the mistakes that all beginners do, you grow from those mistakes, learn "secret" attacks and maybe gett he luxury of being upgraded to gold. Then you hear thru the grape vine that you can really enchance your stats, to become in the top 100 players in your server, so some people take the risk. But these new players no very well that us old players, people who are always talking in the lobby and are known well for their ability, can still mop up these less experienced players.

Im not saying i codone cheating, but i am saying that people need to stop worrying about their stats so much, and instead develop your reputation in the lobby. thats how you become liked, and people respect you if your reputation is one built from a good foundation. I think people need to understand that in all seriousness, this game is just what it is, a game. So my advice to you all, stop worrying about these new players cheating, and some old, just worry about yourself and have fun with the game, make some new friends, this game was not built on competitiveness, rather is was built on the concept of creating a community where players alike could come together and just have fun.

The concept of cheating is hardly going to hurt any of you older and more experienced players, its just more stats for you :)

I would like to add this: The motives of becoming gold are many, one of them is to have an advantage when playing, the free, gray accounts. So my advice to all you golds, lighten up on the new and older golds who still liek to play grays, you can get one hell of a match froma good gray, and you get more experience everytime you play. Lighten up you older more intimidating golds, this is a community and you all need to learn to forgive and forget...

Cheating is nothing more than a mere attempt to better ones place in the game, dont let it affect you like it does. So just let the mods and administrators handle the issue.

People, i cannot stress enough that hceating will come and go but your experience will always shine thru.

Opposing to what Phate said on golds should be allowed to play greys...I say NO!! Golds should not jump greys cuz it is an unfair advantage and it is just a cheap way to get a few stats. I see a lot of Pyro Pyrate members jumping greys so i just jump them. I tell them not to go around jumping greys and they just brush it off and say i dont care what u think. So Phate talk to your members about grey jumping even though you condone it.

You need to look at what I wrote, try to figure out the message in my post....Stats mean nothing...they are only a false representation of your ability for most players...

Golds have been cheating since the game began, but only to better their status in the community, but if they were caught, ridicule and constant lampooning was a sure thing to happen to them. People understand the risks, they just take them, hoping to get better stats...

but like i said, stats mean nothing...For instance, my name on GL is Phate and my stats are low 800's, but does that reflect my abilities? Heck no.

My advice to you Bullcat, read what i wrote and try tro throughly understand what i am saying

Let me just say this.
Golds pay for this game. In all fairness they have the right to play anybody they want, anytime they want. That's what they're paying for, to play games.

But that doesn't mean that other people won't disrespect a gold for jumping greys. There's no honor in only playing greys, and other members will be quick to point that out.

For all the people that grey jump, consult the thread I made where I have hundreds of screen shots of certain people grey jumping over and over.
If you grey jump, you might end up posted there. Just try and live that down .

I disagree with you on your post, and yes I did read it. You said you sympathize with cheaters and think that players are too harsh on them...c'mon. You didn't even give a good reason. Just that its human nature for someone to be thought well of, which is true, but isn't a good excuse for cheating. If someone went up to an Admin or a Mod and says, "Sorry I cheated, but you can't blame me, its human instinct," it's not gonna help.

Stats do matter. I'm not ganna be all self-rightious about it. I like my stats...no, I'm proud of them. I take pride when people look at my rating and compliment me on them. I guarantee that CRX, Rantzu1, and The Thrasher are proud to be known as ranked highest on their server. But when there's a player who's cheated their way their, it takes the pride out of it. Why work hard to be number one when someone will cheat their way there? It makes me mad when I go to the Army rankings, see Codeman1 at 4th place, and then see Nazgul at 2nd(A player who's been kicked out of many clans for cheating).

Also, grey jumping is wrong. Atleast have the decency to just sit your avatar down on an empty arena, and let someone jump you. When you jump a grey, you are playing someone knowing that you have an advantage over. You don't get a hell of a good match from a good grey, sorry. Most of the time, unless there extreme blocking for the grey or the gold disconnects, a gold will beat a grey. If you have a new gold vs a great grey, then the grey will probably win, but take a gold vs a grey, and each player has equal skill, the gold will win.

This is a game, true, and we should treat it as such, but it will never happen. As long as players put effort into this game, playing for several hours to get better, they will get upset when they see someone who they've beat by 6 units ranked 20 places higher than them, knowing that they did it through foul play. As you would say, it human nature for someone to get angry at another person for doing something wrong. As long as there is cheating, there will be players who are going to be mad at cheaters. Telling people to accept it, and to be cool about it is naive.

I understand that people put many hours into the game, and want to see results, but as long as they understand their own abilities, what doe sit matter, they know thata can whoop the "cheater" and gain more stats then playing a 750, so in all cases cheating is just a way to cut corners, sure its unfair, but i think that People need to realize that this game's purpose for to create a community of players who liek to talk and have fun ..

People need to stop worrying about stats, your only as good of a player as other people, as well as yourself, believe. I know your a great player, and you can beat some player that are ranked higher than you, isn't htat what matters? your reputation?

What ample evidence? You're right when people earn their reputation through playing others, but still. The players who are at the top of the rankings who have cheated their way there don't deserve it. Period. There is no reason why we should be forgiving. Players who cheat don't play players they know who they can't beat. Take thepharoah for example, he may not have cheated, but he doesn't play any good players, and thus stays at the top of the ranks. You say this is a community who should focus of talking and having fun. Well, cheating takes the fun out of the game for good players.
