i never ever use a barrier ward, i think it is a complete waste of a unit and turn, and i dont think u even need it to place a barrier on a cleric or lightning ward because u only need to heal about once a game, and your lightning ward has 56 HP, and if you destroy their magic (lightning ward if there is one) thne your all set, and i think magic shuld be the first priority to kill...

if u use clerics, put them in the backfield, and if you use his powers, dont move him, because it takes away one turn from his recovery so u dont have to wait as long enough, move him only if you have to.

this is prolly a random post but oh well

Interestingly enough, you can cast barrier on an enemy unit to prevent them from being healed.

my barrier ward has saved me too many times for me to let this go :p

The barrier ward's problem is that it's not offensive at ALL and is fairly useless if used solely for defending single units for reload or what have you. It's best used to fork units, to make them spend that turn smacking your barrier while your other units recover. If you're defending a unit (say an FG that's holding their full HP knight at bay) and your barrier ward is an insane distance from the fg (oh say 6 tiles), you're going to have room to wiggle while they obediently go chase down the barrier ward. This assumes they're not swarming around you like gnats of course... In which case barrier'd people also make fashionable walls.

The spherical glow of a well placed unit can make enemies go running all over. If nothing else, it can also draw arrow fire (making them use their long reload time) or be really cute and just sit there all round (love that stick and flag look)...

Yea... so they're cool and useful, but i've definately gotten one loss from it not being too useful and sitting there all game while i suffered the lack of an extra attack unit.

when someone does that to me, i dont go for it, i just let the thing be protected, becuase then they wont move that unit, and then ill concentrate on finishing those other units off

i do see your point though, the barrier ward is just not for me though

lol, the best thing though is when they ignore a barrier'd unit (particularly the witch) because then opportunities often arise (my frost golem can attest)
