Great Lake Golds

Ok gang, here’s the deal
I’m going to try and run a gold only great lake clan, with the purpose being to encourage members to teach and learn from one another. Will run some kind of clan ladder tournament for all those interested, and organize times for games so we know when other members will be online.
I’m sending out some invitations, but all great lake golds are welcome.
Once we get some members ill try talking to the admins, perhaps we can get our own gold only forum.
We have a lot to do, but first post here and confirm your membership.
And lets decided on an official name… Great Lake Golems? Sober Scouts? Armored Assholes? Tactical Titans? I dunno, lets at least TRY and be clever

i am willing to help u out. as for the name i am with tactical titans. and as for the time i am on normally from 3:45 to 5:30 and 6:30 to 7:30 eastern time.

Heya DD, that other clan never seemed to materialize, haven't heard anything at least, so if you'll still have me :)

What do you guys think of the names "Something Wicked" and Kiwyido (ok that's not even close, but its from that episode of the simpsons where the family is playing scrabble and bart uses all his letters and says it means big dumb balding north american ape, credit to Azn_Guy for the idea, and i think he might even know how to spell it)

I'll join you guys if you'll have me, My name is Logic in-game (he has gold), and i play on and off from 4:00-11:30 PST on week nights, and whenever i'm home on weekends (all day haha). Well this clan thing sounds cool, see you all on great lakes tommorow.

How about the "Golden Blades", "Golden Guild", "The Knighted Saints", or I kind of like just going with a simple military command name... "Charlie Company" or something similar. We could use almost any letter in the phonetic alphabet and it would sound cool...

In Shattered Galaxy, we had two classes of regiments (i.e., clans): Academy and Elite.

I should think we would be "Academy", as in "Great Lakes Academy". This indicates that we are good for n00bs who need training, like, well, me. :P

But whatever is a good name is a good name. I ran a regi in SG for the Vora faction, called "Vora Elite"; simple and yet precise. My favorite name was "Dark Ronin", but the SAME DAY I came up with it another regi used it!

Count me in on this :D I play mostly during the day while at school and sometimes late at night or on my days off. But I work and go to school, and I have a 7 month old daughter so it gets kinda hard to get online at times.

I am a gold member, they just havent gotten around to upgrading my forum acct. yet.
As for a name, how about The Lazy Sods :D Just becase I think its funny. Hand of Valor and the Grey Conclave are also a few names I like alot.

Yeah, these server crashes suck. I would like to suggest the Omega Golems or Dragons or someother cool mythological animal. How about the Omega Griffins (did I spell that right)? Omega was the name of the last few clans I had been in on a bunch of other games, so I am now using it for everything. What ya think?

kyrios24, Sorry but this clan is limited to golds on the Great Lakes server for a number of reasons.

1. The clans main purpose will be to help one another with strategy in the game, and greys are not allowed the same strategic options as golds.
2. We will be attempting to run tournaments of various varietys and greys would be at a disadvantage.
3. I will be attempting to get the admins to allow us to have our own private forum
and I'm sure if they permit it they would only want paying members to participate.

If at some point you go gold on the Great Lakes server you will be more than welcome to join.

Alright, so I talked to bills today. He says theres gonna be a new gold-only server soon and anyone whos gold on another server gets a free gold account on that server...so the point is, does this still have to be confined to great lakes golds? Because i would much rather keep my armageddon account, if possible.

First of all, Resurgent and Incubus, welcome aboard.

Second, this gold only server will probably change things... I suppose we can start accepting golds from other servers.
I'm assuming we wont be able to take our old accounts to the new gold only server... Which wont really matter except for the few of us who have won unit drops.
We will have to wait untill the gold server comes out or the admins release more official information before we know for sure.
So to answer your question Kyrios, if the gold only server does come out, im pretty positive their will be no problem accepting golds from other servers.

Next order of bussiness.....
Im moving to make our name officially "Something Wicked" if there is any mass objection let it be heard now.

All of you golds who are not recognized as such, please attempt to post in the "Gold account help" forum.
If you dont get a response, send a private message to bills. Keep me updated on how its going.

I'm not rejecting anyone who is gold at this point, I suppose if they never participate or are real jackass's I will kick them out later... but I dont see any reason not to allow someone to join.

Were gunna move threads soon guys, so keep your eyes open. On the new thread ill put up an official member list, and then will start actually trying to do some kind of clan activites.

Still waiting for some more statements of approval or disgust over the name...
