Hall of fame

I think that there should be a hall of fame type thing.
This will honor players who have exceeded 2000 stats or
something like that. I think that it shouldn't be in rank form either.(meaning a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd) Just there name clan and server. I think this will be a good idea because the great ones will be remembered. :) :)

He is saying that if u get 2000 your name should be posted on a page called HALL OF FAME...and it would stay there forever....even if u quit or had a drop in ranking....

Yeah. So if you would actually stop playing the game, your name would still be on the hall of fame.

such a thing would be too short term...the longer the game is around, the more players would make such a mark...2200 would be good..in the chess federation (where our ranking system is derived) a rank of 2200 means ur a chessmaster. So maybe 2200 would be a TAO master

okay, owabout 1ce a mont people Nominate people to go into a Hall of fame for reasons and the "HoF comitte" can vote on who, and why, that person will recieve a trophy or something, for thier rememborance and be put on the hall of fame page

Except cheating is already so rampant it would not mean anything. People farm points all the time.

you'd be hard pressed to find a group of ppl to vote on ppl who weren't biassed though. I personally can't even think of 5 players I'd trust to be neutral on that sort of thing. Not saying I don't like anyone here, just that I know they'd have a preference for some plyers over others.

Can I get voted worst gold?
For a while there last month I had a ton of people in the 1200-1400 range who apparently heard I sucked (or cheated) and challenged me. It made for an easy leap to 1400+. Now I think people are hearing something different and I want to go back to average players with great points giving me easy wins. :D

In all seriousness. There is no impartial way to generate a Hall of Fame, or reward system based on rankings. Rankings are an average of skill, but can be easily circumvented. I beat a 1390 gold this week with a base_unit grey account. HE jumped ME while I was waiting for another grey to spar with. Too bad for him and his almost 30 something+ points he lost. Think he got to that rank beating other 'best golds' Doubt -- full.

He||, Megabyte can not even get a game his rep is so good now.
He is stuck in low 1400's just from not catching games that give him any points. How would he move into the Hall of Fame when he is clearly one of the better golds (as should be evident in the Rev tourney as well). While people who abuse point farming jump up all the time.

the farming for points could be easily prevented... check out 'award' suggestion if you don't know how. It really wouldn't take much extra code... dunno why no one's thought of it yet. Just so you know.
Fix that, and hall of fame's no problem.

Kinda sucks about the reputation thing though. shoot... if you see shattered rose on any of the servers, and you're having problems like that, I'll play you. I'm at least decent (only at 1100's, but this is my first month playing)... I'm in it for the challenge, not rank.

you could always leave the hall of fame to the game programmers, if a voting system were it...

How is that?

Even if it prevented a person from opening 2 windows, it would not stop someone from using 2 PC's.

Nor would it stop larger guilds from having 'cattle' that are lower ranked members who 'give' up their points to higher ranked members on a regular basis.

Nor does it stop the high ranking gold who is deciding not to play anymore and simply exits out of a game with a friend repeatedly until he drops below points gained for his friend.

I like the reward/award ideas. There is just really no way for it to be truely representative.

All we need are people who are biased towards different things.... here would be my list:

Then we'd have two people from each server, both pro and anti 1337 players, and people from rival clans. That way there would be no way they would agree on someone out of bias.
