How do you take a screenshot?

Hit the printscreen button on your keyboard next to F12. That takes an image of the entire screen and puts it into your clipboard. From there you paste it into an image editor eg Paint.

If you just want to take a shot of the active window press Alt+Printscreen.

Nice avatar Felix, you know I never knew how to do that either. I would click printscreen and it wouldn't do anything.

Ugh, I still can't do it. Now, I need somwhere to host it. Someone suggested imageshack.us, but it won't let you upload a .bmp file, and that's what it comes out as when you use the paint program from Windows to save the screenshot. Is, there any way I can get it to be a .jpg or whatever imageshack lets you use, or is there another site I should use?

Yes. When you go to file; save as look at the bottom of the save screen. You should see a pulldown menu that says "bitmap (.bmp)" or something like that. Click on the menu to pull it down and scroll down until you see either jpeg or gif, and save the screenshot as that.

It's a good thing to learn how to do, bitmaps can take up to over 1000 times more than jpegs:eek:

Yeah. If you have an I-Mac, it's a complicated combination of buttons; just go on a thing to show all that kind of stuff.
Oh. I use a PC by the way.
