Ok here are a few hints for nOObs .
1) check someones stats befor chalenging them.
2) make sure you think through your setup carefully as to make sure it is effective
3) NEVER PRESS F5 it will make you quit
4) never attack unless there is a target, if you attack it will take longer to recover especialy with magic units
5) never tell another to press F5 it is cheating
6) never try to attack a ward phisicaly unless its a barrier ward in focus
7) aim for the clerics, they can heal all units by 12
8) beware of a scouts angle, you may be able to sneek an arrow through 2 units to hit another
9) keep in mind an assassins move range and attack, use the 4 panel attack to your advantage
10) keep in mind an assassin, and scout can get behind a unit even if it is right beside you facing you unlike most units

Ok 3 things with your list
1) Instead of just mentioning scout LOS if would be better to post a link (http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4231) to the scout LOS thread, to help people learn the ins and outs of it
2) There are many more ways people try to cheat noobs then just F5, there's ctrl w, alt F4, one other i forget, telling them to hold the flag, and trying to get this to get kick by the filter by asking things like "what's asl/stfu mean?" or "type chess expert as one word for a secret code" just to name a few.
3) Your second tip about making an effective setup isn't really that useful of a tip since most noobs don't have any clue what an effective setup is ;)

AND THIS MAKES YOUR LIST CONSIST OF ELEVEN TIPS, WHICH IS LONGER THEN YOU PROMISED :mad: oh wait...
Good list over all, i'm not sure i like the idea of propagating the myth that the cleric is the end all be all of targets, but ehh *shrug* it's a good starting point for people

I guess i should give a few ways to improve your setup too thanx for tellin me bout that LondonJack it slipped my mind lol
a good idea is to keep your magic units a little ways behind your melee units like thie knight so a ward will not take it in one shot note several ppl like to put their wards up front like i do sometimes. another good idea is to never move your cleric unless it'll save his life and keep him at the back somewere. also make sure you dont be too protective about your scout but make it so he'll be able to hit a few units at the start possibly. hmmm i feel like i'm forgeting something but you'll get more used to it and develope efective strategies of your own that work. anyway if anyone has anyother tips please post them if i dont think to post them.
kinda ironic when so far that i c everyone who voted in the poll has had someone try to cheat. Hope tthey find a way to stop the cheaters
