when there's a random drop, are you notified of it in the lobby? And do you have to be in a game at the precise moment the drop is announced to win it?
also can you win units from other people?

Everyone is notified when there is a drop, and you need to be in a battle WHEN the drop is announced. You do not win the unit from the other player, a totally new unit is created
