GL server

Those who know me, know that it takes a bit to get me going. I pride myself on being patient, taking things in stride, and having a little humour while I'm at it. But I'm getting fed up. This is the 4th day in a row without the GL server! I'm tired of it. This is NOT what I paid for. It is HORRIBLE service. I don't like to threaten, but much more of this and TAO can kiss my money goodbye! Even more I'm hoping that I have proven myself as a respected member of the community, being both good natured and a... "better than average" competitor. I'm hoping that the loss of my presence is as equally a bad prospect as losing my money.
Seed, DR, Bills, or whoever SHOULD be working on this, please get the cobwebs off and get the server back up! This is a bad precedent. I pay to play the game, and to be able to play all the opponents that I would like. While Rev. IS fun, I like having more than the selection of 2 opponents it gives me!
So, respectfully, no more of this nonsense!

All the servers are down. I have this nasty feeling that it's not DR's fault...

About 2 months ago, Banff was down for a week. A whole week. And no-one cancelled their gold account. Quit moaning, be patient, and play something else for a while.

How about we quit paying? I just got my E-receipt for paying my monthly gold bill........but I can't use what I'm paying for. I have no prob with Rev, except on GL I have about 4 drops that I don't have on Rev, and those drops are a big part of my strategies. So going to Rev does no good, and as far as "play something else" goes. I'm PAYING for this, so I should be able to play it whenever I choose. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but idiotic comments like that don't help the situation. It's not 'moaning,' it's a legitimate complaint. Treat it as such, please, or don't bother responding.

Yes it's a legitimate complaint. And yes, it has been said in around 10 other threads. If you want to let off steam, fine, say *just letting off steam* after your posts.

Rooster, no one is stopping you from playing on rev but yourself. In no way are you paying for unit drops if you haven't noticed...

Well if it bothers you so flipping much, don't come here and read it. It's disgustingly obvious what the thread is about, so how about just not reading it instead of coming in and crying about someone else complaining? Don't you see the irony in your repeated whining about our 'moaning?" Instead of trying to control what we discuss amongst ourselves, just ignore the thread! Wow, that's hard huh?

And office, I think you misunderstood me. I have 2 clerics, 3 DWs and 2 enchantresses on GL from drops....I use all of them in my formations, depending on which formation I feel like using. On Rev...I don't have them. the whole reason I went gold was to keep them, but now I don't have them. that's what I meant.

I'm really not that upset about the servers. It sucks....if it goes on for more than a week or so, I'll probably cancel my account because it's crap to pay for nothing, but I'm not necessarily ticked off. I just think those people telling us to stop whining (ironically by whining over and over and using GIGANTIC LETTERS at times) are annoying. If you dislike the discussion, simply stop reading it. Otherwise you look like an even bigger crybaby than you're calling the other people.....at least our complaint has some legitimacy. your complaint is just, "I think the subject you brought up is dumb, shut up, crybaby." Tell me....how mature is that?

lol, rooster, I have a completely full sidebar in Army, my home server, not just a few drops...I hav none in Rev. But i still play there more than I do in my home server. (see bottom for more comment on that line)

This is a public forum, meant for open discussion. If there is a topic I don't like...guess what? I'm going to damn well voice the fact I don't like, because I can, since thats the idea behind open forums.

Personally, I don't see a point to this thread at all. Everyone obviously knows of the server troubles, and how long its been going on (at least in so far as it affects them), so whats the point of stating the obvious? Its not presenting new information, its not a suggestion...well? How about that...that means the people agreeing with the topic of this thread are being repetetive too...not just those disagreeing.

If your gonna cancle your gold account...do it. If not, then go play on Rev. The only purpose I see for this topic is so that ppl who have nothing else to do with their time can voice their opinions to others (not saying thats wrong..just don't pretend there is another reason). If you want to complain to someone who can do something about it...email TAO, don't post it here.
I definitely agree when with the "stop whining." It just takes up space. How mature is that :P


Sidenote: I DO think its valid to complain, Rooster, about the situation IF the entire reason you went gold is to keep your drops. But since I'm reasonably certain that's not everyone else's sole reason for going gold (personally I wanted to keep my stats and have access to more units), then there is little to complain about since you CAN still play, and you don't lose any of the default units you get as a gold.

Is that what I said? I don't think so. All I'm trying to point out is that posting a rant here will have no effect whatsoever. If you sent a PM or email to DR, that's the right thing to do. Ask him when the servers will be back up. You're not going to get an answer to your question from us, are you?

Whoa! I leave for a couple a days and my complaint goes from 4 to 20 replies. Bottle, I realize that patience is a virtue, and that me alone will likely not do a whole lot to spur anyone on to fix the problem. I, however, did want to voice my disappointment with the situation. I AM payng for the service that I feel I am not getting. It's bad business. If this repeats itself too much more, I will be leaving, not out of anger or impatience, but out of a realization that (hypothetically at that time) that TAO is not worth the time or money.
I meant no personal shots at anyone, least of all DR. Come to think of it I don't think it's DR who can set the problem straight anyway.
At any rate, I'm not moaning. I'm voicing my disapproval. I understand it may not be what you feel, but the long and short of it is:
1. I pay for service
2. I am getting sub standard service
3. I want to let them know that at least one of their customers expects better.
It's that simple:)
